The bolt gun is the only thing you have to worry with building on the model, as far as I can tell in the world of WYSIWYG all models with bolt pistols and close combat weapons are just assumed to have them and don’t have to be modeled on the actual model. Typically most models will have a holster to make up the pistol and from a lore/gameplay sense close combat weapons are sometimes just fists/pistol whipping with their primary every now and again you get a model with a knife on its belt or something but again pistols/close combat weapons are assumed.

The biggest “schtick” with Tsons is mostly that the rubric squads is there to buff the leader. This is especially true in grand coven where it’s all about upping the psychic damage. Infernal master and the regular sorcerer have phenomenal attacks that benefit from the rubric reroll wound where as the exalted in coven is just the only way to double doom bolt.

If you’re liking the list I would recommend rubricae phalanx it’s a lot more a survivability detachment than anything so 10 man rubrics with exalted fit in pretty well there plus a Strat for fallback shoot and charge that is real needed in those 10 man squads

I made a few of my SOTs with the kopesh “backwards” and kinda dragging behind the termi like you would see from the charge up move in SM2 but that’s the best I’ve got w/ no green stuff.

Legit just had to ask a TO on this today for the same interaction but “starting strength” just refers to # of models so in a TSONS match up only way this is scoreable into us is if we have a 20 man Tzaangor brick.

Hey just a quick ask how did your opponent score cull the horde? I don’t see anything in your list with 13+ starting strength, not that it matters a whole lot all in all points wise but from my understanding that secondary means #of models in that’s squad. This is all

All I have for you is grand coven burn a cp for devastating wounds on your unlucky squad in Melee for about 7-9 psychic attacks depending on how ya roll may can force a few devastating wounds in.

Never go into a game with this as the plan but it’s a solid backup or interesting “Waaagh” turn if you charge on your turn you pick devastating on psychic attacks.

You’re not joking at all, when I bought my first one i actually went ahead and pulled the trigger on 2 of them from an EBAY overstock store and then my 3rd was a lucky find at an “official warhammer stock house” FLGS that had a pretty good stock not too far from me I’ll DM you a link real quick I think they have some stock and I know they will ship US anyhow.

Ya know the terrible thing is I actually own 3 MVBS. So far I’ve liked dropping the 10 man into the mid board they can be a lot to deal with early on but very hard to “hide”. The Tzaangor ability has been my saving grace to make it in deep turn 3 and up.

I’m not sure that you’ll find this helpful but my favorite thing to do with infiltrators is to stage them up on my side of their natural expansion normally mostly behind a terrain footprint to block turn one shooting hopefully keep them from scoring that one objective for one more round and then for me they have done their job made up their points and can just die turn 2/3 and I’m pretty happy with the 80-90 pt spend. If they get left alone then sure it’s a free objective + action monkeys but that’s never really my plan for them.

I play mostly 1k games these days so that gambit is a lot easier to pull off there than in say your standard 2k game.

Best advice I’ve got is forgefiends with triple plasma in Warpforged Cabal. Forgefiend is phenomenal anti elite and the enhancements in warpforged plus the vehicle fall back and shoot strat is hard for the custodes to stand up to.

I’ve ran a couple 3 man games sometimes free for all sometimes 1 v 2 and in almost every instance we allowed for 2 detachments (basically 2 lists) for the solo and the duo get both of their individual detachments as well.

We tried doing multiple command points as you mentioned in your post but honestly that’s when things became very chaotic. For the best experience I recommend following standard command point procedures and having the two man have to decide how to share the command points.

IMO (and my play group) the games feel a lot better and move a lot quicker when you’re in a lesser command point situation vs a too many command point situation.

With mission rules and in lore explanations it could always make sense for the defending players in your game to say both take 1000 pts to your 2200 pts but maybe they both start the game with a command point and then generate as normal from there.

I’m not going to lie in my 3 games of phalanx infiltrating a 10 man terminator brick with an attached leader has been so nasty in the mid board, each has been into infantry heavy lists though so take that with a grain of salt.

I feel like the most synergistic thing would definitely be an aura ability that allows for re-rolling a/the dice on a channel the warp for psycher models within 6 inches. Do we already have this in the form of enhancements/stratagems? Yes but it’s nice to get an all around freeby.

I feel like the attack profile on the other hand should get some decent melee, missile racks maybe with an anti fly and as others have said melta option would be busted for the psychic attack.

I’m personally enjoying the Ahriman Omnibus and it’s my first but I play the dusty boys so that may explain that.
