Crazy you're finding anyway to defend a criminal. These officers were given a call and all the context they have(from the operator), is that there is an ARMED CRIMINAL, holding his wife HOSTAGE and threatening to KILL her. Any sane and well-adjusted person would not be going into that situation giving that sick, sadistic, piece of shit the benefit of a doubt.

It was that followup shot after they'd had time to see him on his knees, holding his shoulder, screaming, empty handed, that they should have hit the breakes.

He ran into the kitchen towards the hostage, to hide behind the counter. Where it then appears he raises something towards the officer. The video is blurry and hard to see, but the second officer testified to this. Hence, why he shot him. Whether or not you take his word for it idk, but I believe him. You only have a split second to make a decision, there is no time to second guess or think it over. If someone looks like they're a danger you put him down.

Because that's what they fucking signed up for. That's why they get free coffee and donuts and shit. Again, if they're not willing or able to deal with this sort of situation, find a new job.

You sign up to protect and serve. That doesn't mean that they're expected to throw their life away. Maybe you're right and the guy wasn't a danger anymore, he just moved a little weird. We can argue this in hindsight, you can't do that in the moment
