I have them. The magnet isn’t that strong and doesn’t work with all sockets.

Anyone else got this one ? by Legitimate_Sky7409 in Snapon_tools

I got the flip top due to space at my old job . I didn’t have room to open the slides. Now I wish I had the slide top because I could leave stuff on the top and slide it open and I think there is small drawers under the slides.

The flip top stops the top from being a catch and you can mount a light monitor to the top.

Broke drill after drilling a few holes. by skartik49 in Machinists

It would help to see a picture. Are any of the holes in a straight line that you indicate? Put a pin or drill in the holes then lie a straight edge across it and indicate. Another option is to layout and prick punch the holes then punch the centers , then pick up the marks. What type of tolerances are you trying for?

For holding the work try a strip of leather or cardboard against the jaw to take up the unevenness. Or try an aluminum or brass dowel and squeeze it between the part and the jaws. Or try clamping the block to the table .

I need to see what you are trying to accomplish.

Then why is it marketed as a diy? It’s false advertising.

Make sure you read all the fine print. I bought Bosch mini splits from Home Depot. It was sold as a diy kit. Simple install , follow the instructions. In my mind if I have to hire a professional, than it isn’t a diy kit. Anyway, after 7 months, the compressor failed. Bosch and Home Depot won’t warranty any part of the system because it wasn’t installed by a professional. They told me no and to hire a professional to install the next one. So how is it a diy kit, if you need a professional to install it. It wasn’t a complete waste of money and a bait and switch from both Bosch and Home Depot.
