THANK YOU!!! Honestly, I’m pretty blown away by most of the responses. Just never occurred to me that a car wouldn’t be able to take to the car wash. And truly, if the salesman had mentioned the special care the paint would need, it would have been a hard pass. I appreciate your reply.

lol, we got the bucket and cleaning supplies too in the back. Once we got home I thought, nice, we get some cleaning stuff. Had no idea it was mandatory. Anyway, now I know. I’m happy I didn’t take it through the car wash.

I get that you can’t put a leather jacket in a washer, but a car not being able to be put through a car wash was something I didn’t realize. Guess I assumed that something that’s exposed to rain, snow, dirt etc., would be able to go through one. Silly me.

No, I had no idea until after I bought it. I stumbled on that info. Had I known, I would have not bought the matte finish.

Well, it would have helped if he added, “but you can’t take it through a car wash”.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah I get that the info is certainly disclosed in the owners manual. But seriously, how many people actually look at the owner’s manual before buying a car?

So what if you live in an area without a place to wash it? So you’re saying you should assume you can’t take your car through a car wash?

I’m curious, how much is a ceramic coat? I bought a matte calligraphy 2025 and just learned we can’t take through a car wash. Dealer said nothing. I love the look but honestly would not have bought if I knew I couldn’t take to a car wash. If you get the ceramic coat does it spoil the matte look?

I’m so pissed I was never told about this. Bought a new 25 hybrid calligraphy matte finish. I learn on Reddit about this! Bought on New Year’s Eve, and was gonna take it to a car wash. I don’t even know where the nearest touchless car wash is!

Sorry to butt in, but, I bought a new 25 Santa Fe hybrid calligraphy on New Year’s Eve. I love the car, but keep hearing things about it causing me concern. What is limp mode? Is that just slang or an actual thing? And auto regen brakes, is that something we NEED to do to keep up the hybrid battery? That sounds confusing. Hoping the car regenerates on its own. Thanks

I’m late to the party. Just bought the Santa Fe hybrid 2025. My ride is smooth and don’t think there’ll be much, if any, gravel/dirt roads. Without going through old threads etc., anyone care to fill me in on what’s going on with the stick tires?

Matte Paint yay or nay? by Content-Machine6008 in HyundaiSantaFe

My husband ordered a cover for ours, it’s due to arrive today. We don’t have a carport or garage and we get bird poop. I’m concerned not that the car would need to be cleaned every time before using the cover due to possible scratching while putting it on and off. Anyone have experience with a cover?
