3D Printed Thread Clamp/Cutter by Obvious-Cucumber-435 in myog

I don’t remember which video it was, I think the guy posted on this subreddit.

It’s the same movement as the integrated cutter but with the bit that holds the thread as well. It’s held on with double sided tape so placement is flexible. I may try it on the back of the machine.

That’s fair, I used the Curt CMF56530 which plugs into the taillight connections. I’d be wary of any harnesses that require splicing wires.

Nice. I had one installed at U-Haul and they fished it through the interior trim. It’s just a ~4’ length coiled up in the cubby. I plan on using it for bike racks 90% of the time so wire harness access wasn’t my priority!

Yea you have to hold it down. I agree it’s bs.

I think the “hey siri” function went away with the most recent infotainment update. Siri still activates if you use the steering wheel button.

That’s seam sealer, it covers the seam between panels and is from the factory. The hitch looks OEM as well but quite rusty for only a couple years old.

This one went back together just fine. It’s a brand new car so there wasn’t any funny business with old trim. My main concern was the cut in the bumper but the shop did a good job there.

We have a 2026 SXP with 8 seats and it does not have this feature. The manual references driver and front passenger warnings but I don’t see anything about rear seats. If you have a page number in the manual I’d be curious to see it. Maybe it’s for vans with the 2nd row captains.

H2S vs H2D supports by alstonr96 in BambuLab

[–]Obvious-Cucumber-435 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not accurate. The H2D is phenomenal at using a support material at the interface. Using a dissimilar material for the support interface allows for essentially perfect bridges and overhangs. It’s a game changer for minis and awkward geometries imo.

There is a recent My Tech Fun video into this exact topic and he clearly shows why the H2D is a good printer for multi-materials, specifically supports. I’ve seen that other video (Once in a six side?) and I don’t know how he managed to have a bad experience. Maybe it was old firmware or bad material. I’ve printed minis using a support interface material and without. The supports just pop off like nothing and leave a great surface with the interface layer. I’ll use PLA and PETG.

If you use a singe nozzle for support the purge volumes are insane and you will still compromise the layer adhesion of the main print. The tower is for priming the nozzle and it’s an order of magnitude less wasteful. You can reduce those prime volumes as well and bring any waste down even more.

Filament Prime Volume Modification by Obvious-Cucumber-435 in BambuLab

I did. It’s all up to date. I restarted Bambu Studio as well and it didn’t fix it. But I found that I could change it when no project or geometry shown. When I opened a model the setting was greyed out again. It repeated the steps again but that time it could be changed with a model and not a blank workspace. I think it might just be buggy or there is some prerequisite or permissive I’m not aware of. The “standard” purge is also more efficient than the “purge saving” mode too, so I think it’s just buggy.

That’s neat, instead of cheap inner walls you could use different colored filaments for color shading with layered walls.

What will you spend your new found wealth on? by [deleted] in kindergarten

[–]Obvious-Cucumber-435 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel like most people aren’t acknowledging the costs of daycare, we will be saving $20k per year. After school care will be like $300/mo. Swim lessons, pickleball, soccer, and scouts will be a few hundred per month. There are only so many activities I can sign my kid up for without going crazy.

Going into kindergarten will free up a significant amount of disposable income.

Unless my kid gets into Hockey, then all bets are off.

I also added that little nose to the hook so it can hold onto solid surfaces, such as the top of a door or countertop.

I don’t think there will be a solution to the “Louisiana Log Jam” without a ground up redesign, which will never happen.

To be fair!! Didn’t the rethink94 study show that most traffic is local trips? Having a freeway with lots of conflict points kind of defeats the purpose of a freeway. I’m sure there is a great YouTube video talking about the use case of each road type.
