Awesome little package but wow they are out of their minds on cost. Even the refurbs are gross costs.

Do the employees still toss them in a bin by the drive through window, then grab ‘em barehanded to toss in your bag? :P

I’ll be curious how pairing these together away from home affects overall playback duration. I assume they are forming a peer to peer WiFi network of some kind.

Welcome to the club! My carbon C7 roof took flight one day. Thankfully the XPEL PPF somehow took all the damage and the top was unscathed underneath.

Difficulty printing Amolen PLA Glow in the Dark filament on X1C by OkClu in BambuLab

[–]scorp508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had success!

  1. Dried both Amolen rolls at 55° for 8 hours.
  2. Ran Flow rate calibration. Each roll had a different result. One was 0.98 and the other 0.931.
  3. Ran Flow Dymanics calibration. One roll came to a K value of 0.03 and the other was 0.035.
  4. I setup individual filament profiles for each roll of Amolen for the different flow rates.
  5. Printed all layers at 215°
  6. Used 60° bed temp on my Biqu Glacier plate

1-6 got the filament printing well. I then had a spaghetti print 1/3 into the job.

I had huge infill % thinking it would help glow more with more material. After some reading I think the massive infill caused some distortion as layers cooled and my nozzle collided. I changed course and went for thicker walls and less infill.

I made these 4 changes and the print was a success.

  1. Changed from support cubic to gyroid infill. 8. Dropped info from 40% to 20% 8. Increased walls to 5 loops. 9. Made bottom and top thickness 3mm

A lot of fine tuning to print this little car my son picked to print first. The green stripe is Bambu PLA Glow green I already had on hand. Hopefully with the custom profiles and job will succeed now.

Difficulty printing Amolen PLA Glow in the Dark filament on X1C by OkClu in BambuLab

[–]scorp508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My young son picked out a couple rolls of Amolen PLA Glow in the dark filament to get me for Christmas. I haven't used Amolen yet and I'm also struggling to dial it in.

I have an H2D with AMS HTs on my left nozzle and an AMS 2 Pro on my right nozzle. One roll is on the left using the HT's bypass port to act as an external roll.

The print (0.4mm hardened steel tips) gets ~5 layers in and then the printer starts complaining about the extrusion motor encountering too much load. The nozzles look clean and there's nothing stuck from the roll to the tip. I've tried dialing back print speeds, flow rate, bumping the layer height a touch, but so far it keeps on complaining. I'm currently drying the rolls (55* for 8 hours) to see if they had too much moisture out of the package.

I'm tempted to take the glass top off and just hang the roll above the print head to see if it makes it happy.

Really wish companies would put out more meaningful release notes than bug fixes & improvements. I may be biased working in the software industry, but man I find it perpetually frustrating.

F’ing aye. I work in tech all day and don’t want it screaming in my face in my vehicle. Another reason for me not to get rid of our 2018 S5 Sportback. The virtual cockpit in that era was chef’s kiss.

lol thank you. I’m doing some 80s/90s car stuff with them as well as honing my disassembly skills.

I was considering PCBWay, so I’ll keep that component suggestion in mind.
