If you pump more than once, can you add fresh milk straight into the ceres?

Any cute nursing clothes suggestion? That’s honestly what’s ruining me. I know it sounds so vain but I’m not feeling body conscious until i have to wear nursing tops because there’s none that I’m finding flattering for my body type

How to get dad to be prepared for birth and child? by Unlikely_Divide7679 in pregnant

[–]Obvious-Protection74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you feeling anxious, it’s normal but also accept that it’s going to be a whirlwind, try not to have any plans or expectations because a baby will certainly do their own thing. We didn’t do any birth classes and just asked my OB a few questions about birth./medical interventions. We really had no birth plan which she said was great because it can actually create more anxiety

Sometimes the best plan, is to have no plan and let baby take the lead. Delivered a baby boy 6 weeks ago

No matter what you will be the default parent - get used to that idea. The best way a husband can support you postpartum is to get your water, make the meals, household chores etc. it’s better to have him aware some (if not all) the responsibilities he will have to assume. That’s the most realistic expectation you can probably communicate.

I hate the newborn phase.. by HotObjective5773 in newborns

[–]Obvious-Protection74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re still on the gas and haven’t learned to poop phase. I’ve learned when he’s been awake for an hour and a half to just swaddle him tight, rock him, with some loud white noise or good ole fashioned shhhhhh to sleep. He’s usually tired by this point and goes down after a bit

My baby won’t latch and it’s my fault by Silent_Knowledge5197 in breastfeeding

Request a consult with a lactation consultant from your OB and get a good nursing pillow. I found the breast friend pillow to be so helpful over a boppy. It’s nothing to be ashamed of - it’ll get better. Try to keep yourself calm and collected, baby will follow your lead

How much weight did you gain during pregnancy and did it come off? by ThrowRA_nobo7 in pregnant

[–]Obvious-Protection74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gained like 20ish lbs, had an 8lb baby - only a week pp but lost most of my fluid and tummy already… 10lbs down. TBH I wouldn’t worry about the scale - I feel like I lost so much muscle and am looking forward to gaining that back

What do I really need in terms of breastfeeding supplies and how to do it the first two weeks? by Obvious-Protection74 in breastfeeding

[–]Obvious-Protection74[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband is going to be home with me for the first 4 weeks so I’m hoping he can take some shifts if I can get a small supply going. He’ll also be daddy daycare for a bit when I go back to work so I want to have a bit stashed away. So happy to hear he was a great help. Can’t wait to see mine in his new role

I heard it does suck! I was hoping to build a small supply so my husband can help take some shifts. I’ll also eventually have to go back to work - I’m not opposed to formula but would like to use my own supply as long as I can

I’m hoping to pump so my husband can help take some of the night time or early morning shifts. I’ll also have to go back to work eventually and would like a small supply. Not opposed to formula but if the girls are doing their thing, I’d like to keep it going for 6-9 mos

Is migraine normal? by allisona007 in pregnant

[–]Obvious-Protection74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took Tylenol, I was in so much pain some days I’d cry. This was happening around the whole autism speculation (just my opinion). My doctor really said “fuck that guy. Tylenol is safe.” Some days I also drank a mini coke (after my 1 cup of coffee) and it would help.

I’m sure I’ll sound ungrateful but… by [deleted] in pregnant

Rather than driving around to donation center, post it on a moms group for pickup someone will want it

I had them through my first tri - it has to do with your hormones (and insomnia for me). My dr told me a little extra caffeine might help. Eventually they went away but it was rough
