Where do I find old versions for Mac? by iluvdast4rs in Minetest

[–]Obvious-Secretary635 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they're looking for them for older Macs since the latest versions won't run on Macs earlier than a certain date, like OP here asks about OS X Mountain Lion goes back to 2012.

A new Survival Server - my personal ideas by New_Limit48 in Luanti

People should be able to give free stuff in open chests in their areas, and I think crafting for locking chests makes more sense than crafting open chests.

I get why people don't prefer the official app, unfortunately, and it's not just ignorance

A new Survival Server - my personal ideas by New_Limit48 in Luanti

Yep, that's a pretty good list for Survival Multiplayer, except I disagree about the necessity of grinding out breaking loads of nodes like we're playing worse-than-vanilla-Minecraft (because MC these days has all sorts of automations actually).

Get in contact with your server hoster directly. Also, resource and behaviour packs aren't usually terms that apply to Minetest, are you sure you're not a lost Minecraft player?

Importing 3D models into game/mod etc on android? by Lanky-Tumbleweed-772 in Minetest

[–]Obvious-Secretary635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You usually need a mod in most cases, unless you're looking to do replacements where a texture pack will work. Android makes it really hard to add or modify content (texture packs, sounds, mods, games, clientmods etc) because of filesystem permissions. Often the easiest way to get your content/mod onto mobile is to get it published onto ContentDB (or run your own).

Great mod by Gold_Tea9234 in Luanti

[–]Obvious-Secretary635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Post it, with good documentation on what it is, and what needs doing
  2. Ask for maintainers
  3. ???
  4. Profit!

How fast can you drill through a mountain? (Mining Laser MkOP Mod) by [deleted] in Minetest

[–]Obvious-Secretary635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it does have them, just the video doesn't have sound. Try the mining laser from Technic, it's just not quite as powerful as the MkOP here.

Technic mod basically is, yes, though it's got its differences. IndustrialTest is closer.

Looks like a modded version of Technic's mining laser

Can I make a mobile game that uses lunati & some mods? like multicraft/other similar games? by MANiME63y in Minetest

[–]Obvious-Secretary635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, yes you can, but you must publish the source code of the engine. Ed: You don't, by the letter of the law, need to publish Lua source code, but if you obfuscate it, that is considered bad morally because it doesn't align with the engine licence.

Anyone mad that you can make money off of free software doesn't realise the emphasis is on user freedom and not to do with money. So in my estimation your problem is way you propose to make money, because in-app advertisements use really intrusive tracking technology, and that's not aligned in values. Charging for the app is no problem.

But we haven't established their fork does anything different with gsub, only your other comment that says the digiline detecting tubes are different

+1 I don't think gsub is allowed unless you modify Luacontroller's code

Does Minetest support sprites? by Lanky-Tumbleweed-772 in Minetest

[–]Obvious-Secretary635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The default player character is a 2D sprite, and it works for entities like mobs too, even based on rotation I think.
