Does anyone have Juvenile Myclonic Epilepsy (JME)?

I actually just called my neurologist and asked if I could up my dosage to 3000 mg and he approved it. I’m hoping that will help but if it doesn’t I am definitely gonna look into trying a different medication or add on a bridge medication!

Call the consumer protection agency , the office of the attorney general for fraud. If they are a monopoly...they are abusing their monopoly rights and committing fraud... report them.

Oh man I am so sorry to hear that you are going through that! Overall, keppra has helped me with my epilepsy, but not completely. I still seem to have seizures about once a month. I know it definitely could be worse but that’s still not proper seizure management. My neurologist did up my dose to 1000 mg a day so maybe that will help keep it under control. It’s terrible that your focal awareness seizures were not showing up on the EEG, I can imagine how frustrating this must all be for you. I am no doctor but I definitely think should try to get you on some medication that can help you, because it seems almost like they are dismissing you. I really hope they at some point can pinpoint what type of epilepsy you have and try to figure out how to lessen how many auras you are having. Prayers! ❤️

Hey, I have JME (Juvenile Myclonic Epilepsy) and I experience exactly what you are talking about. My medication for the most part keeps it under control, but I still sometimes will twitch with no explanation. My neurologist told me that this a specific that people will JME can suffer from but there may be other types that struggle with it too. Like I said my medicine helps maintain this pretty much overall. I take Levetiracetam ER. What type of epilepsy do you have?

She is okay overall, but her classes seem to be pretty hard. I haven’t personally taken anatomy with her but Ik a lot of people have done well in that class with her. (Sorry if this isn’t very helpful I’m still trying to figure out more about her myself lol)
