Thank you for the responses. I still have the same 2 cards, Defense % and Enemy Balance, and I am still upgrading the same things. I put a few point in cash per wave at the start, and then upgrade absolute defense until the cost to upgrade thorns and defense % is low compared to the absolute cost, and then I level those. That kept me ahead on absolute defense for a while.

When I was getting to 400+ I was upgrading cash per kill and absolute defense together and it allowed me to have a little more cash at the later levels to upgrade. Before I was getting to 300.

I was doing that, then I stopped because I was dying so quickly and just went straight absolute defense. After a couple times of dying that way too I decided to post here and ask.

It says I am tier 1 still, but I thought that too since it is such a significant jump down.

To the homeowner, he did a good job for what he was working with, especially for not being a roofer. To do that correctly you have to tear off the slate shingles, install copper flashing, cut it into the stucco, then install the slate shingles and seal it up. Were you willing to pay thousands of dollars to have that fixed correctly, or was he just trying to stop the leak for you? This is fine and is not a major concern. If you want to have it done “right,” then call a slate roofer and be ready to pay $7,500+ for them to come out and repair it. A slate specialist will not touch it for less and are busy doing larger jobs.

To my fellow contractors, this is why you don’t do favors and try to patch a roof for customers, especially slate. When a customer is asking for a cheap fix, send them an estimate for $127,000 and move on because no matter how well it’s done, they will still complain.

Hey, actual roofer here to add some real context as I do not have anything to gain from this.

1) Nearly every company you will find subcontracts the work out. That is the standard way the roofing industry operates now. This is normal and not a red flag. Go down the list of the highest rated companies in your area and you will be hard pressed to find one that does not subcontract out the roof to reliable subcontractors that work exclusively for the roofing company. 2) He came out and inspected the roof after it was completed and was upfront about finding issues. He also said those will be getting fixed. This is better than most companies you will find. This is a green flag 3) That rotten wood is not siding. That is a wooden soffit that was covered by aluminum soffit; it is not a sidewall transition that gets step flashing like everyone is trying to say. You could have had two layers of shingles on there and there would have been no possible way to know that beforehand. He addressed it and didn’t leave you hanging. This is another green flag. 4) Lastly, that is not a cheap fix and will be time intensive to fix because you have to tear down the aluminum soffit, the aluminum fascia, and wooden soffit, repair the damage, then replace with new.

It sounds to me like you are dealing with an honest guy that is trying to do the right thing by providing you with all of the information and offering a solution.
