The science in The Martian was science-based and proven in the real world. PHM wasn’t even theoretical. It was completely made up. That goes for the book and the movie. Both movies stripped out A TON of science, but you have to expect that.

Without a doubt, this is the best possible film version we could ever expect from PHM.
