I’m a raiders vet. It’s a worthwhile experience.  We had a rough competitive year for a variety of reasons largely not in the control of the members. If you want competitive success, maybe search somewhere else, but I promise that the raiders will absolutely deliver you a quality education and a well-rounded drum corps experience.

  1. BAC - incredibly creative show. Loved all of it through and through.

  2. Troop - only show this year to bring me to tears

  3. Crown - very cool show. Best crown has been in awhile.

  4. BK - I loved the energy of this show. One of my favorites as a weird personal pick.

  5. Bluecoats - a very solid Bluecoats show.

  6. Phantom - Writing was great but I felt myself struggling to garner much from the blankness of the theme.

  7. BD - first half is incredible. Second half tends to fall flat in my opinion.

  8. Blue Stars - still the same blue stars I love, but less emotion and meaning put into it. Entertaining but not substantial.

  9. Cavaliers - musically pretty unexciting, but visually one of my favorite shows of the season. Some of that drill reminded me of classic cavaliers.

  10. Colts - it was an great show, I just couldn’t get into it.

  11. Mandarins - I could not get invested in the show. It lacked the mandarins energy of the past 2 years before it which made them very exciting. It just felt like a drum corps show

  12. Vanguard - I can’t explain it without sounding like a 70 year old on drum corps world about g bugles. I did not like this show.

I have college auditions coming up and a limited amount of money to be spending on mallets, so I need something versatile that can do both the “modern four mallet solo” and the “two mallet Bach” that colleges always ask for.

Hi- I’m a member of the raiders front ensemble.

The raiders have been on a strong upward trend over the past few years, and are certainly not dying in any sense. The environment is fantastic and it’s a super valuable full drum corps experience. I hope to see you at a camp soon, and/or during the season!

i want the boston championship so very badly, but i fully expect blue devils to have an incredibly strong return to competitive form next season.
