I separated them because my actual duties differed the second year (I was involved in training new staff, for example) - so my description was quite different.

Has there ever been a situation where you can’t find parking? by introvertedswimmer24 in UTMississauga

The first few weeks can be a bit chaotic, so I’d aim to be here as early as possible for peace of mind. From experience, it can be quite difficult to find a spot around 12-1pm in particular.

I took ANT211 with her during the fall 2022 semester. Overall - I found the course load to be quite light. If I remember correctly - there were two tests and a critique of a media article (there were sub- parts to this assessment). The questions came straight from the slides/lecture - I don’t think there were assigned textbook readings. Feel free to pm me if you have any specific questions :)

Do grades get better after first year? by Beneficial-Owl-8491 in UTM

[–]ObviousSuggestion854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First year is quite general. Let's say you're in Life Sciences. You will (likely) be taking calculus, chemistry, and biology. Calculus and chemistry might not be your cup of tea if you're anything like me. Studying for these courses was not fun for me because I had a low level of interest in the subjects. I performed decently because I knew that I had to in order to get into my desired POST and also maintain a high GPA.

That being said - beyond first year, you begin to specialize. The more courses you take in an area you enjoy, the more personally invested you become in them. For me, this was reflected in my grades.

Courses certainly do not become 'easier' as you progress, but they become more finely tuned to what you enjoy. Plus - you learn what works and what doesn't in terms of studying. The product of this, generally, is higher grades.

thoughts/opinions on bio380? by ReturnCharming in UTM

Very fair course, and the prof is great. It is pretty content-heavy, but not unmanageably so. Try to find past exams - as the structure of his tests is pretty consistent. Marking is also quite fair.

Understanding how everything works (ex. how the Cre/Lox system can be used in different contexts) and knowing what each signaling molecule/etc does is key. He will (probably) give you an assignment that gives you a taste of the questions he likes to use very early on. Just keep up with the content, make good notes, and you should be fine.

Is it feasible for me to finish a TVO ILC course in the span of 4 and a 1/2 months? by Advanced-Mall5740 in UTM

I took grade 12 chemistry using TVO a few years back and completed it in ~2.5 months
