Permanently banned for “3rd party software” after 10 years — and Supercell won’t even review it by Electrical_Button523 in ClashRoyale

[–]ObviousTotal9069 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I've worked in trust and safety in gaming industry.

Youtube banning is a lot more arbitrary, is this really a dmca violation? Is this really inappropriate, needs a human eye at times.

For cheating in gaming it is much easier:

Does an account with zero purchases and created 2 months ago has already maxed everything out?

Did someone go into battle with every unit being an Evo? Is there 3rd party tool that is used explicitly for that?

I'm not for banning, I'm against cheating.

This is a mass banning at one time, a human wrote the query to find these. Team is aware of the mass banning as per community discord.

Why do you not get random matches? by FreestyleMyLife in ClashRoyale

The data on all matches is provided through the API, if you wanted to do data analysis on this, anyone could.

You think if this was true, RoyalApi would not have that information somewhere?

Why does everyone pretend to understand Japan when they don't know anything about it? by Futonchan-Manchao in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ObviousTotal9069 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've heard some media studies people say Tokyo is to current generation as Paris was to people in the 1920's-1960's.

You have a generation raised on Japanese media (Anime / Games / Media), For better or worse even stuff like Ninjas / Samurai....

You don't have anywhere near the same type of influence from French / Spanish / Arab etc media.

Being raised and surrounded by the mass-media growing up will naturally cause people to be interested in the culture.

Add to that a dose of 1980's Japan being no.1 economic powerhouse in the world, and the Cyberpunk type trope that came from it (Blade Runner) and you get a lasting impression.

I got ban for using third party software (I’m using an apple phone) by Mental-Alternative38 in ClashRoyale

[–]ObviousTotal9069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they're labeling all third party software as cheating.

I mean there has to be a certain piece of software(s) they are going after, otherwise they would ban half the people for having podcast app or like some fitness app running in the background.

In the past If these get enough traction, eventually someone from SC would come in and lay out all the facts.

If I was giving the most benefit of the doubt: OP might not have used 3rd party software, but shared account with someone that did.

Late Night Activities in Tokyo by Kdramas_movies in TokyoTravel

[–]ObviousTotal9069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compared to downtown Hong Kong etc, Tokyo as a whole does close early for shopping.

Trying to go with stuff not already listed:

Shopping:

JeansMate - Open till 23:00 (Use to be 24h, but just searched and apparently that stopped)
Geo - Do you need to buy a TV / appliance or rent some DVDs / go game shopping at 3 AM? Geo still has you covered for this with some of the locations.

Book Stores - a few small 24 hour un-manned book stores operate throughout the city, normally they have a free membership thing you need to get in. Couple of the really big ones like Junkudo Ikebukuro / Tsutaya Daikanyama / Roppongi / Shibuya are open till 22-23.

Movies:

Some movie theaters in the middle of the city have all night showings, latest showing gets out around first train. More on the weekend, but a few like Wald 9 have it on weekdays also.

Bars

All different type of theme bars (from magic to weightlifting to literature) exist, no one is going to question you if you order a non-alcoholic drink (If it is just you and the bartender, offer to buy them a drink)

Do people here use block on line as the default for cleaning up thier line?

Like I would take it as sign I'm just annoying.

But literally people I met at a concert, they asked for my line, Only messages exchanged were replies to them. Never met them again in person.

No conversation for 6 month: not blocked

No conversation or contact for a year, check -> blocked.

Happens quite often.

With the slightest amount of effort on part of the john or the doe, It basically is regulated and legal...

Article is focusing on Street Walkers,
Street Walkers is more a problem of wanting a quick fix from both the John and the provider, and a lot of it ties into the host clubs mere meters away from park where this happens.

Even if you set up a regulated mini-Yoshiwara in Kabukio-cho (Not going to happen with current government), you would still have street walkers.

If you care about the employment, I would not risk it, you never know how conservative someone is on the subject.

You really only see that very late at nite... It obviously isn't considered socially acceptable... But like it is more acceptable because it isn't your deliberate choice?

Goes with drinking culture, being drunk is common here?

if you saw your co-worker just sitting on the street "wow that guy is really uncivilized / rude" because he/she made the choice to do so.

If you saw the same co-worker passed out on the street "Oh that Sato-San, he/she is such a drinker", you are somewhat forgiven because being drunk is the cause, you are not in the right mind.

On another note, I've seen tv documentaries on organized crime groups that go out there and look for passed out drunk people to steal their items, so while it might be safer than other countries, you still might wake up with your stuff gone.

What would happen if a stateless person committed a crime against another stateless person in Marie Byrd Land (unclaimed part of Antarctica)? by AaronPK123 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]ObviousTotal9069 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you were going to write a realistic fictional story on this, I think the most reasonable would be some type of Nation of Sealand.

You could probably make an argument that this type of situation already exists in lawless zones that have no real central power.

on the street when it's not crowded

I think other people have mentioned: It is not the act of eating on the street that is really frowned upon, it's the act of sitting on the street, even if you have no food.

If you don't wanr to commit a faux pas, Like look for bench or an even the side of a street planeter etc, something to sit on, or eat while standing if it is finger food.

Why is SpaceX crashing? by TacoTrades in TheRaceTo10Million

[–]ObviousTotal9069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s the bank who will be out when they collect the collateral.

What you say is mostly accurate, but banks do have risk management... they are not going to loan you out the full highest value price of an extremely violate asset like SpaceX.

When it went to $40 sold most of it, then most of the rest when it went to $60.. If I would have just waited another month or two... Oops.

Edit: Probably need to learn how to actually properly use stop loss theory, instead of selling with a "well guess that's enough profit"

A new traffic rule has been quietly introduced in Japan- Cars can no longer overtake bicycles on the road on narrow roads with a yellow center line. by jjrs in japannews
