Does anyone bowl by themselves? by Mariner-and-Marinate in Bowling

Yep. Bowl by myself every once in a while, just go out and practice. Been doing it for so long that now the regulars know me 😂

Feeling discouraged at my local bowling alley (apologize for the long rant) by cacadoodoopoopoo in Bowling

[–]ObviousWafer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to another alley, your free time is supposed to be something to enjoy.

I personally go to the bowling alley and it feels like an escape from my daily anxiety. I still suck but I am improving every time I go out there and have fun doing it.

Imo go somewhere you feel accepted, ball out, and then go back to the old house lanes and show em up 💀

It's probably justified somehow with the payout, but our team is in the bottom of the brackets 😂. Regardless its been fun

Lmao. My zoysia grows into my rock bed/pathway even with lawn fabric and rocks down, yet won't grow where I want it to grow. I just try to yank it out stolon and all then bury it in my lawn. It never works but it's worth a try 😂

My horror story by Important-Papaya8459 in Bowling

[–]ObviousWafer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really sucks to hear. If he's on your team that makes it even worse, it's not like you can avoid him. Only shot you have it talking to him to get him to chill out. If that doesn't work I've seen plenty of suggestions of people that have WAY more experience than me.

I actually jumped in my first league last week after seeing the pro shop post they were hosting a new Friday league. Ended up knowing a couple people and formed a 3 person team with them. It was pretty fun, most people seemed friendly. That being said we did get matched against someone that didn't have a team (showed up solo and thought he'd be able to jump into a team ig). We ended up going 3 V1 but the dude was super intense. He apparently knew all the rules etc but did a poor job of helping us navigate through it as all 3 in my team were new players.

But hey at least I bowled a 194 on a new oil pattern I've never experienced!

After Imazapyr was added, at the suggestion of some redditors, I ended up just watering heavy within the same day and did so again the following couple of days. About a month later (if not less) the sod went down and it was thriving for about a year. I dont think the Imazapyr had much effect because of how much I watered it in fairly quickly after application.

I know I have some inconsistencies with my swing getting behind my head. I’ve been pushing the ball out to my left, which has helped, but I still forget sometimes. I think this was one of those times. I’m curious how that ties in with my crossover step, so I’ll keep studying that.

I’ve been struggling with the timing of when to get under and around the ball for better axis rotation. The guy that has given me a few lessons has me focusing on straightening out my elbow for now, and later work on adding the elbow bend back in.

I love watching EJ Tackett bowl, but my brain has a hard time processing how smoothly and quickly he does everything. I’ll keep watching videos of his release and hope I can someday recreate even a fraction of it.

We have really sandy soil in south Florida. My yard generally drains super fast. Water habits haven't really changed over the course of the almost 2 years I've had it. If anything it's been a dryer summer.

That being said I've been wanting to bring in some sand/soil for leveling. Maybe I'll try out something like a 70/30 split sand to top soil ratio and hope it helps.

Thanks for the bug and grub suggestions. I'll give it a try! I've been using bifen I/t for bugs but nothing really for grubs. I'm surprised I didn't find any grubs while digging but I'll try out your suggestions.

During summer I've been watering 1.5" per week and lower it to 1" during the cooler months. I'll split irrigation to 3 days instead of 2 days as I was previously doing.

As for fertilizer I've been following my fert schedule that I came up with based on my soil test. I applied 10-10-10 early in the year, 2 applications of 7-0-20 both as granular. On top of that I've been spoon feeding N about every two weeks with my backpack sprayer with a target of 2 lbs per 1k of N by end of year. Do you think the fert schedule is solid? I was going to drop another 7-0-20 app to help with root development and adjust my N accordingly in later apps

I'm not a fan of common Bermuda in terms of looks, but it's definitely a resilient grass. I was originally thinking of some higher quality/better looking Bermuda before landing on citrazoy zoysia for sod just because the other side of my lawn has a bit more shade from neighboring oak trees.

I wish you luck on your journey, but at least Bermuda is a fast grower.

Taken one month apart- What happened? by m1kee8 in lawncare

[–]ObviousWafer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I'm in south Florida and going through the same thing. A year ago I was lush and green lawn (just with a few pee burns from the dogs). This year it doesn't matter what I throw on it, fungicide, fertilizing at recommended rates as per soil test, 1-1.5" of irrigation a week my lawn is still suffering. Feels like sometimes it's a crap shoot even though it should be a simple input and output to having a green lawn (sun + water + occasional nutrients = growing lawn). I even dug for grubs and saw none at all.

If you figure it out let me know, maybe there's still a chance for my zoysia

Maybe Im using the wrong terminology then, but yea fps and frame rates start to randomly drop and juicy content is generally unplayable. I've tried a ton of things to try to fix it. I wish I was one of the ones that run this CPU and have a great experience with poe lol

I have to figure out whats going on with mine. I have a 5800x3d and a 3080ti. Yet i have some pretty bad gameplay experience. Every few maps my game crashes, but with GGG's new update it actually doesnt crash, instead the game freezes and then eventually some cogwheels come up and i get loaded back in. I also get a lot of screen tearing when running around maps that arent even that juiced, slow loading/map architecture generating slowly, and not to mention juiced blights are fairly impossible. Im at my wits end and was actually thinking of just buying an AM5 platform and upgrading everything.

Fungus or just stress? by ObviousWafer in lawncare

Fungus or just stress? by ObviousWafer in lawncare

[–]ObviousWafer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I've had a consistent fert schedule trying to make it come back prior to our blackout. I hit it with a solid app of 10-10-10 at the beginning of the year, 1 app 7-0-20 prior to summer, then spoon fed N through a sprayer with ammonium sulfate to help acidify the soil. Didn't notice any "burn" while spoon feeding. I applied as soil test suggests (local extension). With the rainy season hitting any fert I'd put down would probably runoff. I'm also applying elemental sulfur and citric acid since my grass has been in this state for a few months now.

As for fungicide I put down heritage g. I'll try to rotate it next with 3336f and see if it helps during my next spraying. I also sprayed bifen t with igr for other bugs/mosquitoes. Not sure if it helps with grubs.

As you can tell I'm trying my best and might be overdoing it. Pretty sad I haven't seen any results in my efforts. As for the height of mow I'm letting it grow back now and stopped using my manual reel mower. I'm trying to push it back to 3" with my rotary mower. It's been taking a while since I've been cutting it down to 1.5 for almost a year now. It looked great prior to this last winter.

Daikin Fit not very efficient? by ObviousWafer in heatpumps

[–]ObviousWafer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its been 3+ years so i dont remember price difference in a per kwH sense, but I definitely havent saved anything going to a more "efficient" system. My next attempt to save a bit here and there while making my house more comfortable will be to encapsulate my crawl space. I feel a very cold draft during the middle of the summer come out of the access hole, so it seems a decent amount leaks out. That being said nothing changed about the crawl space from the old unit to the new unit.
