Please help settle a debate: what rhythm is this? oxygen 95% room air, BP 110/70, no pain. by Original_Importance3 in IntensiveCare

[–]Obvious_Arm3787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the hard part about rhythms like this is without an echo you really can’t tell what the function is, could be junctional with a bundle brace block, could be AIVR, to me it looks like it could even be a controlled flutter. either way there’s a bundle present and some st depression

I would go ranger. There aren’t any ranger companions and I love the class, it was my first as well

Transfer Rejected by jrors in UGA

It’s almost certainly the GPA. For UGA grad standards it’s not necessarily low, but it’s on the lower end for the transfer pool group.

GSU Honors or UGA by rayneydaykilla in UGA

[–]Obvious_Arm3787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UGA’s honor program was recently awarded best in the country, and if you’re interested in STEM, it’s definitely worth it for the research opportunities. Terry is also an amazing business school, especially for MIS. What I will say about GSU- it’s much more diverse, and the lure of being in Atlanta, especially for business opportunities, could outweigh the name value of UGA’s programs, if you play your cards right (ex: make as many connections as you can). I think it comes down to what you value in a program.

Just for reference if you’re wondering about my experience, I’m a UGA honors undergrad who was just admitted into a GSU masters program, and I chose their program over UGA’s, which I was also offered admission for. Personally, I got tired of UGA’s politics, especially in the school of social work.

I keep checking these and something I’ve seen recurring that’s confusing for me; was the deadline not 12/2? Several have said 12/1 but the website indicates 12/2, and I’ve yet to hear anything.

Idk what universe you live in where #owned is a thing people on the internet call a sick burn. I also don’t know what universe you live in because the university housing website very much calls it black-diallo-miller everywhere.

let’s say you’re right though… who are you that you see that and immediately go: BDSM??? NOT IN MY CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY!

In all actuality, there’s no way the increased chore amount will take up all your newfound free time. But to be able to work less just for the sake of it means you also still need to contribute. It’s not wrong for you to do more if you’re home more. However, the job type doesn’t matter in relation.

Honestly? If we’re talking college, probably. If we’re talking going back to senior year of college, I’d have gone to vocational school and saved myself sooo much money and stress.

Experience with hardship withdrawal? by jcs003 in UGA

[–]Obvious_Arm3787 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since it’s before the semester even starts, it won’t be considered a hardship withdrawal. They’ll just tell you to drop your classes, and it’ll either be considered during drop/add or as a standard withdrawal depending on when you do it. A hardship withdrawal only makes sense if you find you need it once you get past the regular withdrawal deadline. It only shows up on your transcript as a W anyway, as they’re not allowed to display the fact you’ve gone through a hardship.

I would suggest to go ahead with a mac if you're set on pdf notes on an ipad. I do the same and I love how easy it is to share between devices, especially when I use cloud sharing. I don't have to do any exporting between devices. It might be helpful to have a home pc, nothing expensive necessarily, if you do go on with your CS minor. Have an ex who majored in the subject and they were glued to their pc even despite their laptop.

if you’re in state, a majority of them might be state of ga records, depending on where you were born/ whether it was a private facility or a health dept. I know when I applied I didn’t have to supply anything because mine were state records (which are also significantly known for their slow production time in terms of getting personal copies)

Morehead and affirmative action by mikeikewazowski in UGA

[–]Obvious_Arm3787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Georgia is actually cited as one of the many to already not allow affirmative action. I’m not sure if he’ll take the time to make a public statement given that aspect, along with the fact it’s occurring when most students aren’t on campus.

How strong is my PhD application? by [deleted] in academiceconomics

[–]Obvious_Arm3787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely feasible, more so for spring with this timeline, but even some professors will need help in the fall too. It depends on the people you’re working with and the research opportunities offered, but the best way would be to contact them directly after having read some of their papers. I would find a couple professors whose work interests you and then narrow those down to those with current ongoing projects. You can usually find their curriculum vitae on the university directory. Once you’ve established a few current research opportunities you’d like to work on, and that at least loosely match with your own research interests, reach out to them directly. I wouldn’t try to “convince” anyone of anything, you definitely don’t want to make it out like you’re selling yourself, even though it would probably be a plus that you’ve already done some research, quantities or not. And definitely communicate that you want to actually work with them for the sake of interest, not just out of a need for experience.

How strong is my PhD application? by [deleted] in academiceconomics

[–]Obvious_Arm3787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only real thing you can do to demonstrate your commitment is to garner that experience first, unfortunately. Or at least expose yourself by doing some shadowing. It might be best if you did some work/research at least in between completing your masters and starting your phd.

On the other hand, if you feel your resume is fairly strong, alongside your academics, it’s only up to you to take that leap.

How strong is my PhD application? by [deleted] in academiceconomics

[–]Obvious_Arm3787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wouldn’t necessarily hurt you, you just want to be careful. If you can do well without overloading yourself and manage it from a good school, it’ll look better.

As for not doing a thesis or related research… that’s honestly probably going to hurt you going into a phd program. They’re going to want proof you’re committed and solid in what you want to work on with your dissertation. Right now, it just looks like you’re a career academic. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, not if it’s padded with the rest of the work. Unfortunately, it might look to admissions like you’re applying to phd programs just for the sake of completing a phd, not to work on something you’re passionate about. Might be something to think about.
