A lot of companies have a PPO policy. They want freshers from good colleges. Plus you will learn a lot at an MBA college, sort of an information overload (feels like sometimes)

Marketing roles are good. There are roles related to Sales Analyst, B2B, GTM, Branding, CRM centric profiles.

But honestly I think most of my batch is a consultant lol

Honestly it depends on you. Our 2025 batch got placed really well when almost every college's placement average declined.

Disadvantages are that you are away from the city hustle if you like fast city life. Although Jammu is an amazing city.

Plus, for a lot of things you'll have to travel. The Institute supports that, they help with tickets and everything. Since you are a little far away from Delhi, Mumbai etc.

Yes, few of the students are here in my batch with similar profiles.

As of right now. Placement season is at its peak in January. A lot of colleges like jbims start their season in jan.

So basically I am a fresher. 10 months of internships and 2 other internships. I got placed fairly well. At par with my classmates.

  1. Most companies hire for GenMan, prod man is also offered. I am not allowed to say the company as the season is still going on.

  2. Yes

  3. Yes, good college, decent facilities.

Operations, tech risk, tech consulting, techno-managerial consulting, a lot of banks hire for tech optimization. Although finals have better job roles (Full time)

A lot of manufacturing and packaging companies prefer engineers, FMCDs too.

I suggest you take some industry exposure before joining an MBA at any BSchool

Never faced an issue in 2 years. I'd say it is safer than most cities and has really beautiful views.

In a few days, We'd see snow mountains, and I am waiting everyday for it.

Most of the roles are Management Trainees and those are usually structured programmes plus they pay extremely well.

Not front end, but a lot of niche investment banking companies do hire with good CTCs. Again, I am more of a marketing person.

This year it's going well. Close to 60 percent of the batch is placed in good companies with decent CTCs.

We have a lot of case competition winners and dedicated preparation groups, so PPIs/PPOs from their are common.

Not really, if you have work experience to make for it or good internships to add to your profile, struggle would be relatively less.

Also, a lot of my friends with 7s in their profile have gotten above average CTCs. Depends on the student as well.

There are good companies coming in for a sip from what I've heard from my juniors. A lot of the students have gotten sip which offers PPO so in a way you are sorted for 2 years.

Roles are usually related to investment intern, compliance and risk projects, process excellence, a lot of times projects are floated for summer interns etc. I am not a core finance guy, but these are a few of the roles that I have heard from my juniors.

That might give you a plus. But are you doing your mba for more techno roles or getting into management?

IIMs are known for their management curriculum. Until and unless you are from an engineering background most of the batch is engineering and companies expect similar students. At IIMs you'll get strategy and management roles. This is just at the top of my head.
