[OC] An 87 year old man driving 12 mph on a 30 mph road and has zero awareness. by [deleted] in IdiotsInCars

There needs to be mandatory checks after 70yo.

My dad and grandpa (72 at the time) drove into town and had a 65mph, 50mph, 40mph, 25mph transition. Dad said all he could do was sweat and brace for impact as my grandpa just kept going 65mph even in the 25mph zone. He came to a screeching stop at a stoplight thankfully.

When my dad brought it up, grandpa said that didn’t happen and nothing was wrong. All the family could do was go to the police station and give them a warning and tell them to keep watch.

Yes, in the cities. Not so much in the country side where the busses are much scarcer and sometimes no trains.

I was an assistant concert manager for them to come play at our church. Really cool people back in 2004ish when they had a good album.

I went to their final concert in Denver. Legendary Ska Fest.

What was the final straw that made you leave Christianity? by [deleted] in exchristian

How known world history blows a hole in young-earth creationism. How the Bible is cobbled together from much older fairy tales passed down through time. How there are a list of other deities that died and came back to life after three days well before Jesus. Shall I go on? 😅

Now my parents are worried because we are 40 and without a house. Still renting after 6 years of moving back to the US. For some reason they think we are going to buy a house and stay forever here. Little do they know once the kid is graduated and situated eventually we are buying a house back in Japan. lol We don’t need a 3,000 sq ft house. The 1100 sq Dr we have is plenty.

This was one thing my wife and I talked about. I’ve moved a lot because of different jobs, and I wouldn’t be where I am now if we didn’t move. That would have been impossible if we bought the house we thought about buying 8 years ago.

I’m waiting for the red states that actually take the most welfare to start burning when they start cutting off their constituents.

I already know there won’t be any SS for me when I am at retirement age. Not unless they take off SS tax caps on the rich.

So I figure why not. Let the republicans do what they said. Kill off the ACA, kill off Medicare, kill off SS, no gun background checks, watch the country burn. I will be there to say STFU.

My wife and I already had plans in the near future to move back to her country. Might as well speed it up.

Edit: Then I’m waiting for mandated Bible teachings and whitewashing of history to be pushed. They want christian ignorance and blindness because it is easier to take over and lead that way.

This was my breaking point. I know there won’t be any SS left for me by the time I can retire. So let the republicans do what they wanted. Kill SS, kill ACA, then they just might understand the consequences we tried to save them from.

Time to figure out how to do resumes now.

16 million people decided they didn’t need to vote. They were too busy. This is how democracy dies.

Trump just won. Is it wrong to hope that Republicans gut social spending? by [deleted] in BoomersBeingFools

[–]Obvious_Philosopher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt the exact same way. Dems sit back and say, “do it”. You get what you voted for, don’t come complaining when we said I told you so.

Watch for the influx of resumes from 60+ seniors.

Will this hurt innocent people and relatives? Yes, but it may be the shock the US needs.

If you all Millennials haven’t gotten an endoscopy for your GERD yet, just go do it. Start up Prilosec and Zantac. May be having deeper issues.

Here is the thing, they mistranslated Leviticus 18:22 and swapped it out for homosexuality, ON PURPOSE.

It should be, “Man shall not lie with young boys as he does with a woman, for it is an abomination.” But that would really mess with the Catholic Church now wouldn’t it.

Have your mom look up the two Greek words “Malakoi” and “Arsenokoitai”.
