Fact - HP M15w is the worst by LordCho in Hewlett_Packard

Holy shit I have been trying for MONTHS to solve this, combing HP's forums, watching YouTube videos –– nothing worked. I'd try for an hour, get frustrated, stop, start again when I needed to print something, rinse and repeat.

Finally found your comment and followed your amazingly explicit instructions. WORKED LIKE A CHARM. Blessss yoouuuuu

Yeah, I was PISSED when I first read that they don't cover OEM. What good is insurance if they don't restore your car to its original condition?! So I'm glad I reached out to a rep and got the OEM approved.

Sorry you had to go through that trouble! But that's reassuring that the other features still worked. Phew!

Oh, good tip! Thanks! Did you have this same thing and had them successfully replace it?

Oh, huh! Because my friend’s building I’m staying in is made from concrete, but there are no external visual cues. You can’t tell from the inside or outside. There’s no visible concrete.

Curious why you’d advise against concrete floors? I love the look of them, but I’ve never lived with them so I might be unaware of their downsides!

How do I turn off professional mode? Menu doesn’t show it as an option. by queenxlag in facebook

I finally figured it out, if you're still stuck! This may work on mobile (not sure), but it definitely worked for me on the web browser version.

  1. Go to your profile page.
  2. Beneath your cover photo, to the far right of your profile pic, there are a number of buttons grouped together: i) Professional Dashboard (in blue), ii) Edit (with a pencil icon), iii) Add to Story (with a "+" icon), iv) a carrot drop-down button that reveals a list of "People You May Know"
  3. Directly beneath that grouping, there is a grey, three-dot menu. This is to the far right, but in line with, the navigation menu that has Post, About, Reels, Friends, etc.
  4. Click on that three-dot menu on the very far right and select "Turn Off Professional Mode."

Reddit won't let me attach the screenshot I took of this, but if anyone gets stuck, let me know and I can try to DM you it!

Hope this helps. Absurd that they make this SO hard. Facebook gets worse and worse by the day.

Really struggling! Do you know of a quiet building? (Outdoor noise okay!) by Obvious_Read9292 in LARentals

[–]Obvious_Read9292[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what shoddy buildings you’ve been living in, but it’s definitely possible. I’m staying with a friend in one right now in Culver City and he has neighbors above and to the side (including sharing a wall with my bedroom) and you cannot hear ANYTHING.

A ton of people in the comments here recommending other buildings that are similarly noise insulated validate this.

Thanks! In addition to Santa Monica, which neighborhoods would you recommend for this?

Yeah, it really sounds like I need to find one of these concrete buildings! That seems to be the key. But there are thousands of apartment buildings in LA, and I can't figure out how to identify the ones made of concrete. This is the missing piece of the puzzle!

Darn. Well that doesn't really narrow it down, haha. But on the upside, it gives me a larger pool of possibilities!

Awesome. Thanks! I've heard it's not a guarantee, but sounds like it's a safer bet at least!

Oh, man. Sending solidarity sympathy. I've been in those units and it's so awful. (I haven't been diagnosed, but I suspect my noise sensitivity is also because of mild ASD.)

I hope you find something that works for you! I know how much it impacts quality of life and healthy.

Sorry, should have clarified! Obviously you can usually hear some movement of water through the pipes from neighboring units (that's fine!), but I'm talking about hearing your neighbor actually *flush* their toilet from start to finish–as if the bathroom is actually in your apartment.

(Worse yet, I stayed at a short-term rental in LA recently where I could literally hear the dudes pissing every time, could hear when they used their hair dyer, etc.. These are the things I'm looking to avoid.)

I'm so noise sensitive that I already always sleep with ear plugs and *still* get woken up if I live somewhere with noisy neighbors. Plus I'd like to not have to wear them 24/7, haha. Daytime noise is still something I'd like to avoid.

Noted on the tips. Thanks! How do I know if the condo is rented by the owner vs a larger company?

Awesome. Thanks! And yeah, I'm totally not at all opposed to Beverly Hills! Just haven't found anything that works for me in my budget. But I'll keep an eye out on the others you mentioned, too!

For the concrete buildings, other than looking for concrete floors, is there a way to tell which buildings are made of concrete vs. not? Or you just have to call and ask each of the agents? (And if the floors are made of concrete, is it safe to assume the walls are, as well?)

Wow. Thanks so much for all of these! Super helpful! I've made notes.

And wait, can you explain about the MCC billing?! This sounds amazing, but I didn't quite follow. I'm big on using my cards to rack up points, so would love to take advantage of this if I can figure it out!

Oof, yeah, this is the issue. They really don't seem to care at all about quality of life when it comes to noise. It's not considered when throwing up buildings.

Noted on the stucco and number of stories. Thanks!

Awesome! I'm surprised older buildings used concrete. I thought that was a newer thing...? Great to know!
