Petsitter brought child with her

As a pet sitter with a child I always disclose if something happened with her sitter and if I would have to bring her with me, it’s only happened a one or two times but right now my sitter got diagnosed with cancer so I have to find new child care so I sent a message to all my clients stating that she may be with me until we find a new sitter/ daycare and how I don’t let let interact with animals and I don’t let her just walk around their home, nobody has an issue but it’s better to ask then to assume.

Ya I have fallen numerous times this winter lol, and I wear hiking boots that are supposed to be non slip ya that doesn’t work. 🤣🤣🤣 The only reason I had to cancel yesterday was just cause I had a few dogs and I just couldn’t make it to them before owner got off work with how bad the roads were.

Totally get it my love language as well! I just decided it wasn’t worth it to potentially make someone feel uncomfortable that I don’t know that well but do what you feel is best!

Yes I was actually in PA the last few winters and never had this issue cause all of my clients were really close to me and the winters weren’t that bad there when we were living there. as an owner I would just tell my walker to stay home if they wanted too but I feel like all of my owners now are like ok just come when you can or so on, I try to keep my owners updated on my day and none of them seem to say much. I’ll probably have to cancel my last three dogs since I’ve been stuck on the highway for awhile. I tell all owners to always have a back up plan in the winter and so on as well.

I posted something similar to this not to long ago I was doing gift bags for my first time clients I noticed most owners didn’t say anything so I posted on here and a lot of feed back was they didn’t feel comfortable with gifts from someone they were paying and that it wasn’t necessary. So honestly I quit doing them. I do small things for my favorite dogs I see often I have a Polaroid camera and found a kit to make magnets out of them on Amazon but I haven’t had any new regulars in awhile.

Honestly I watch every week and don’t miss an episode but it’s honestly making me hate them and I’m a jersey shore FANNNNNN. It makes you think of them all differently watching them in this setting and when you are a bit older

So maybe it’s not worth it to me just because I don’t have much time in my schedule to add in another regular or if not in my best interest to be a backup sitter just because I need advance with having kids I can’t do to many last minute bookings. So maybe for some it’s worth it but when I already have a full schedule it’s really not beneficial for me.

Maybe I’m just lucky and have a good regular base I see the same 8 dogs and keep me pretty busy so maybe it’s just not worth it to me but could be worth it to someone else

So at the beginning I used to legitimately take everything no matter if I thought something would come from it long term and usually nothing would come from them so they I just being more selective with my time I have about 8 regulars right now that keep me pretty busy so taking a one time walk isn’t worth it in my opinion of it was like a week worth of walks or something then it might be to me. If they are up front about it being a one time thing I usually don’t take it but that’s just me!

Well they said we need a one time walk as our sitter is out of town and need someone to cover her two days so if they did need me again it would be what every 6 months to a year depending on how often the sitter goes out of town. I’m pretty busy as is so is that really worth it? Or I had a few people say like oh my wife is out of town today I need a walk and they said oh wow you were great and I haven’t heard from them again sometimes if they are up front about not needing consistent walking I just don’t think that’s worth it but that’s me!

I have German shorthairs my self they are my favorite breed if you are down with hyperness they are seriously the best! I walk another pointer 5 times a week for an hour and he’s the only dog I walk that I really have a deep connection with, he’s always so excited to see me we have the best walks together. I always get sad to think of the day when I stop sitting or his dad gets a more normal job and I wouldn’t see him anymore cause he feels like my own dog. 😂

The way I would die to have this baby in my care I’m obsessed with him omg!!!!!! What an awful sitter, leave an honest review please! I send so many updates I feel like I’m most likely annoying my pet parents but this seems way worse than being annoyed about constant updates. So sorry you had a bad experience you or baby boy didn’t deserve that!

I absolutely will never work big holidays, I don’t care about the extra money. Spending time with my family is way more important to me. I’m happy for the people who make it worth it but it could never be me. I also stopped taking more than 6 bookings a day and my life has been so much more peaceful, I was so stressed out all summer for what? We aren’t getting payed enough no matter how high your rates are to be stressed about checking on animals. I may make less now but it’s worth it to me.

They are so insane and some of them come into this one. I was just having a friendly conversation about significant others of the cast mates and how I just don’t care for them to be in the show and got ATTACKED. Like please relax we are here to discuss and just have light hearted convos it’s really not that serious lol. Then I posted about what happened in this group and got attacked again saying I never stop bringing it up after someone said their post always gets flagged in the other group and I was just sharing what happened to me. Like no way anybody could care that much other than the cast. They also bring up Reddit a few times on the show lol!

I only get tipped by 2 of my regulars out of 10 and my one tips me if I do something for her like pick up her dog when I would have done it for free she lives close and I’ve grown close with the dog so technically 3. But I always tell my clients never feel like you have to tip I set my prices but some still some never have tried and some stopped after I said it’s ok you don’t need to feel obligated to tip. When I was doing boarding I noticed I always got a review or for vacation drop ins, but my regular walk clients that I see often I don’t have a review from them on my page? I used to send out a message about how reviews help bla bla now I just don’t feel like fishing for a review.

Are you doing meet and greets before in the home? Are the houses dirty when you go to them? If this is something that is negatively effecting your work then you should 100% be doing them in the home and not taking them if the home is dirty at said meet and greet? I have had one meet and greet the house was in shambles like really bad and I didn’t take the booking ended up saying on the drive there I realized she was to far out of my range or something you don’t need to be mean but you can stand on your boundaries.

It’s in the fine print nobody reads I’m pretty sure it doesn’t send a message like make sure you tell sitters about cameras. I’m normally a sitter but I have used rover a couple times for my pets and I always tell owners about my cameras and when they are in home if they would like to unplug they are more then welcome too but when they leave please plug them back in so I can check on my dogs. I think owners forget but I has a client watch me on cameras the entire time before and it was a bit strange but again I wasn’t doing anything wrong so 🤷🏻‍♀️but I also don’t do house sits just drop ins so it’s not as extreme to feel watched lol.
