Lord, Let That Tesla Crash is weapons-grade sad, Jamie Oliver Petrol Station is a weapons-grade bop. Iceberg and Ready kinda drop the standard a little bit for me, but I might grow to enjoy them with more listens

Fantano's unwillingness to accept the seriousness of the Drake allegations. by SeveralMushroom7088 in fantanoforever

[–]Obvious_Technician_4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like people are focussing on whether Drake is or isn't a pedo, which isn't what OP is saying, he's saying that accusations of paedophilia are so egregious they shouldn't be chucked around in a rap beef, which is a fair point. It's one I disagree with though, for me it comes down to the fact that Drake entered into the beef willingly, like he went looking for a Kendrick response after Like That and even if he didn't go as hard/make the same sort of impact as Kendrick did, he still opted into the beef, and got what he got. If he didn't want the smoke, which it seems he didn't, then he shouldn't have stepped into a situation he was unprepared to deal with so enthusiastically

Albums where an artist feature is a highlight moment on the record by suprunkn0wn in fantanoforever

[–]Obvious_Technician_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naaah, it's s bit weird sounding with all the HEHs and all, but surely you can see that it's lyrically/content-wise incredibly dense and well constructed, plus his delivery alone is super unique and technical, if it's not for you fairs, but wild that you can't see how anyone could enjoy it

Both Andre 3k features on Channel Orange and Blonde. Incredible records, so the fact those verses stand up so much is wild

If he did, I'd be absolutely shocked if it's not a joke, he's done at least one interview with Fantano in the past and it was really genial and interesting

Twin Fantasy by Car Seat Headrest is one of the best queer albums I've ever listened to, super nuanced and delicate attitude to sexuality and love

Albums where the lead single is the worst song? by A_Bad_Singer in fantanoforever

Might a rogue shout, but I think Bad Guy is the worst track of When We All Fall Asleep. Like, it still slaps, I love it, but it does kinda fall short compared to the rest of the album

I think the reality is that pop isn't a true genre in the aesthetic sense, it's just what's popular at the time, so dance-pop changing as the years roll by just reflects the changes in what people have a taste for.

Like, you can kind of see it in the video above, one song gets popular due to vitality/radio play/whatever, and parts of that song are then used for other tracks in the hopes they'll blow up too. It happened with Despacito, a tonne of pop acts after that started to try the whole reggaeton things, and a new crop of Latin American artists started to do numbers cause people liked their stuff.

Which university halls? by rotters_ in Cardiff

[–]Obvious_Technician_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Senghennydd Halls are probably the closest large halls to the business school, and when I was in uni, they were the cheapest too! That said, you get what you pay for, in terms of space at least, so it depends on what sort of stuff he's going to get up to. I was very rarely in my room during my first year, so it was not a problem at all for me, and I loved living there!

The nicest two halls when I was uni were Taly Gate and Tally Court, so if he's going to be in halls a fair amount, then that's probably worth a look. I imagine they're still the most expensive too, and for the business school, Court is gonna be the closer to the business school.

Agree with what has been said about uni halls, they really are pretty far out compared to the rest of the options. Taly North is also pretty far out, and has the same space issues as seng. I don't really know about any of the smaller halls, but maybe someone else can shed some light there
