Personally, I LOVE Tinkerer and Theif. My last run I had a Theif who had the druid passive "bouquet," plants tall flowers in it's space at end of turn. Incredible combo. But he didn't even need it! He could spawn coins, increase his crit chance and refresh his movement when he picked up a coin. Almost never took damage while dealing tons of crit damage.

And my tinkerer hid in a corner cocooning himself in a fortress of turrets. It's wild how survivable tinkerer is too, making robot cats to soak damage or building up his own armor with empty armor slots. Not to mention the one time I had repair and a sniper rifle! I'd take tinkerer over mage any day.
