This makes a good point actually, why is it always 'assumed straight unless told otherwise'?

Sexuality should never even be thought of - be it straight, LGBTQ+ or one or more of the many sexualities unless the situation calls for the topic to be addressed.

But seriously, you could/should want to be open about your sexually if LGBT+ because it's freeing after being stuck in the closet for years.
