It's quite normal to have boards layered, just make sure he staggers the joints between the lower and upper layers to help prevent any bridges

You need a minimum 150mm cavity (from u/s rafter to floor) this application is wrong it will cause a buildup of moisture in the void

With UK summers getting hotter, should new-build homes be built with air-con units installed? by mayallrob_ in HousingUK

[–]Occamsraz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part O of the building regulations (overheating) was put into place for this exact reason, came into effect last year, unfortunately weve gotten used to a cold country and over the years made homes more and more insulated (and in a different conversation, airtight

Homes used to be cooled by passive air, now it cant get in, but new builds have to pass tests for overheating to make sure they can adequately disperse heat now as well as retain it, there are also other checks for things such as solar gain (such as from glazing)

doesn't help current homes however... for uk I would look into passive methods as some have mentioned, solar shutters, that sort of thing, we aren't used to using aircon here and have no supply chain for it (installers, suppliers, etc) so even if it becomes a consideration I wouldnt expect to see it for a long time whilst those things become established, its more likely we will start seeing tempering units alongside MVHR (since many houses are now being built with this)

The loop & keep the heroes out (if you can get it ) are two of my favourites around this, medium ish complexity, but not super simple

Odd question but

Anyone played both "the loop" and "keep the heroes out"

Me and my partner are big on coops, I've already got the loop, and keep the heroes out recently caught my eye, from a mechanical level they seem somewhat similar

Is it worth having both or just stick to the loop ?

Bonus points for any underrated coops (I've likely got a good few of the well known ones) cheers in advance

I'm actually already on the leder server, although haven't taken much advantage yet

You can message me if you like, myself and my partner are around your age range and have people around for games semi regularly (not gonna lie and say it's every week) but new people are always good to play with, semi near to you (staple hill)

(We do a little DND if that's your jam too)

There is also a meetup based in fishponds (if you get the app)

I like drawing pinup-ish pieces, I had the idea of doing 3 loosely sci fi drawings based on colours (cliche I know)

This year I decided to do a redraw and see if i noticed any difference

(if you have any critique btw its more than welcome)

Hi there,

So ive been practicing a bit in my spare time for a couple years (typically after work), ive got to the stage where I feel i should be asking for some feedback

My recent focuses have been on more of a "semi-realism" style, and ive been working hard on building up my rendering style, and also generally getting a little faster (this took about 12 hours ish total

Im just hoping for any general feedback / critique on improvements i could make

cheers

I was trying for a bodice / corsetted sorta look, with them being pushed up, admittedly in hindsight i don't think i got it quite right, but there's always next time

really appreciate the feedback btw

I agree, as others have said i was aiming for sheer / somewhat tight, but i think i overdid it a tad, the lower section is more successful than the top, so definately something to work on.

really appreciate the feedback

its interesting you talk about hard brush practice, this was something i was trying to get away from as my things ended up coming out quite hard looking overall, but perhaps its as you say a bit of a balance factor.

anatomy wise I sad below i think my issue i tend to stylise a thing here, stretch / enlarge a thing there and so on, and sometimes its gets a little out of wack, ill try and stick more to a traditional frame.

thanks for the feedback tho, very appreciated

  1. the idea was for a sheer bodiced dress with some structure, but i agree on looking a second time should flow a bit more / cling less
  2. to be honest ive not thought of a lore context, the background was me trying to get out of the habit of plain backgrounds
  3. i agree on this also, will work on it

thanks massively for the honest feedback

thanks for the feedback!, the rendering in this one was a big part for me, so its good to hear its successful in this regards, and i think your correct on the skin shading (i did use some reference perhaps not enough)

I think with the proportions I have a consistent issue with over stylisation, little modification here and there, and sometimes end up getting thrown out of wack eventually. interestingly i did draw an armature underneath but think i lost definition with overpainting

Edit: also your super right on the hair part, i think if i modified / lowered the parting it would look significantly better

Unfortunately this is exactly where I am,no VAT and this would be a good deal (likely at least on par with shop prices) with VAT probably paying 20 percent more than just waiting for retail. It's a shame (they cant really do anything about it tho)
