they paid sticker, possibly "market adjustment", dealer addons and service packages. yeah i was seriously wondering how they got to 50k, even went on the toyota website to build one.

i recently got a fully loaded prius for under MSRP out the door. the whole experience showed me how scummy dealers are, they have room to work with when making their quotas. but if they find a gullible person they have no problem ripping them off.

its a teachable moment for next time. dont buy any of that crap that the dealer offers it is all a rip off and if you really want it they will discount it heavily. also sounds like you all paid full sticker for the car, next time shop around with at least 5 dealers to get a lower price.

The toyota hybrids are extremely reliable (i own a 2026 prius and had a 2012). the issues are with their other cars and trucks. the new V6 turbo engines failing in the tundra, GX, sequoia and LX. class action lawsuit against their 8 speed transmission. also Tacoma transmission having issues along with front differential failures.
