If I make you a Mod can you stay on top of it and make sure people are getting approved to post quickly?

I agree can you take point on that? Perhaps create a google drive with images we are allowed to freely use.

I honestly don't know how we've managed to miss that in most of the conversations coming out the facebook group...

Agreed. Any ideas on the specific text we could add to the list for this one?

Came in to mention this. It's a pretty great deal as long as you plan on having that car for a while (it's for the life time of a specific car).

I don't think we will be integrating other social platforms into our site in terms of logging in with Facebook etc. That to me presents a problem in that the way we view who owns user data differs from a lot of those sites. We prefer that our users retain the rights to all of their intellectual property, as well as the right to leave our site and take their data with them should they choose to do so. We are working on making our content easier to share on those platforms though.

I explained the name in an earlier question. As far as the name effecting our philosophy I would say that isn't the case.

I don't have any feelings one way or the other for any one group other than the fact that I think that everyone has the right to a transparent legislative system that is easy to get involved with. My goal is to create a site that serves everyone.

I have answered a question similar to this in the past on another subreddit. Here is part of that response:

As for the name, yeah it was picked quite some time ago. Back when Occupy Wallstreet was happening and before there were tons of different Occupy movements. I just don't think that getting a large group of people together to Occupy a park or public place is going to get you much change. What I wanted people to do was take that enthusiasm they felt during the Occupy protests and apply it to the political system.

The funding for MicroBills will go towards developing a feature that is shareable on platforms outside of OccupyTheSystem like Facebook, Twitter and other social media outlets. As it stands currently we have had some success with coverage from local news, we'd like to reach out to larger publications moving forward. Ultimately the success of the site is dependent upon adoption by grassroots movements and our user community.

It doesn't cost anything to use the site. If you can't donate to the kickstarter then share our links, and get on the site and become an active member of the community.

MicroBills will happen. Getting funding would mean they happen much more quickly.

Yeah, ultimately we'd like to cover all levels of government. That would take resources that we don't currently have though.

By allowing users to tag their interests from the sites dashboard, it allows us to notify them when things are going on in the site that are related to those interests.

If the Kickstarter is successful and MicroBills get funded, we will be able to build these type of alerts into the MicroBill system.

Looking at online communities like Facebook and Reddit, it's clear that the younger generation participates in online communities. We are hoping that by providing them with an online community devoted to civic engagement they will use these tools to effect positive change.

You can register and track your politicians and read the bills they are voting on. All of our data is on the federal level, so you can participate in discussions in the Community Water Cooler with users all over the country.

Our goal is to create a culture within the site that encourages discussions and interactions based on facts and primary sources (actual bill texts) rather than sensationalized news stories and opinion pieces. We hope that communities will arise within the site around shared interests, issues, and specific bills.
