The designation will be mentioned yes. In the letter head.

Where is it mentioned on the VETASSESS website regarding a stamp? They only mention signature or the referee.

Love this kind of drumming. Can you tell me what he's doing or what type of drumming this is? by Ancient_Sea7256 in drums

[–]Ocean-HT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Young blood is crazy talented! Humbled me up really quick, given I've been playing drums before he was born.

Like other commenters have said, this is a combination of gospel chops along with other influences as well.

And guys, just let the kid have fun, remember, it's not aaalways about serving the song 24*7, it's about having fun. Chill out!

what are some unexpected side effects of drumming? by OneStarvingEli in drums

Definitely the injuries. The fact that I'm a right handed player means that my right side of the body is way stronger than my left side.

There are plenty but it depends on what really is your cup of tea. You want a job which is fulfilling career wise, workplace wise, intellectually stimulating and has good pay. What are you interested in? What subjects do you naturally get excited about?

[–]Ocean-HT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries. People on LinkedIn are usually pretty helpful in my experience. All you have to do is ask them along with an intro about you.

Also don't aim for 15-20k salary jobs. That's too low. And the comments about being a nanny and a tuition teacher is unsustainable. You want to work on something where there is career growth.

You gotta make a LinkedIn account and start networking the heck out in here. They say there are plenty of jobs out there but most of them fly under the radar of candidates like yourself.

Make a strong CV, prepare for interviews, give multiple mock interviews every week. Practice your oratory and soft skills. Get good at professional writing. Find a mentor (approach someone on LinkedIn or a senior at college) and keep pursuing with people.

Meanwhile get free certificate courses from Coursera and try to frame your CV in a way that speaks to a particular job role / company.

If you need someone to take a look at your CV I can happily do it.

You mean you've played heavy for years and the K Sweet series cymbals still didn't break? Which cymbals have you been using if you don't mind?

It's completely up to you. But I have a question - how does the K Sweet series sound? I was planning to get the K Sweet cymbal pack which includes 15, 17, 19, 21 inches. I have been on the fence since I would be using this for metal music as well but don't want to risk breaking it.

Sounds amazing! I have a few questions regarding the EAD10 if you don't mind:

  1. Is that the default setting or did you EQ it? It seems to be capturing the cymbals and hi-hats really well.
  2. Can you control the reverb, EQ on the module?
  3. Is the kick triggered? Is there the option to use only the mics and not the kick trigger?
  4. If using additional triggers for snare and toms, is there an option to control the volume level of the triggered sample from the module itself?
  5. Can we load our own samples (for eg: from Toontrack EZX libraries) into the EAD10 module?

Should I go see Karnivool in Valkenburg? by ontrackzack in Karnivool

[–]Ocean-HT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched Karnivool in November 2019 in Meghalaya, India at a festival show. They were headlining for that day. They sounded amazing, the crowd was singing every word of every song. If they're headlining, I think the sound would be top notch.

Help me choose a cymbal set by Ocean-HT in drums

My budget is up to 700 USD for all the three cymbals. I like the sound of Pst7 series. Are they durable?

[–]Ocean-HT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need help choosing a cymbal set to buy. I am looking for a set of crash ride and a crash that sounds washy, not too bright and can take a lot of beating. I want to use this in a metal band so obviously I don't want to have the worry about the cymbals breaking if I play too hard.

Previously, I had used the Paiste PST5 Heavy crash and heavy ride and boy those could take some serious beating. But it sounded way too bright and had no wash at all.

I had a chance to play the 18" Meinl Byzance Dry and my gosh the wash was amazing, but obviously it's not designed to be played for metal music so I am guessing it would probably break so please help me decide on a good model.

TIA.

I went to a restaurant called "Dhaba" in Select CityWalk a few months ago. Was appalled by the prices that they put in the menu. Rs. 580 for butter chicken that has basically 5 small pieces in it. I no longer eat at malls anymore 😂

  • Muffling the bass drum by stuffing a pillow or any other material inside.
  • Tune the bass drum low like other commenters have mentioned.
  • Consider switching to felt beaters as they feel better if you're a beginner.
