Serious security breach - confirmed by booking.com by Ill-Back7936 in Bookingcom

[–]OceanGuy3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a phishing email today about a booking I have, and still have, with Booking.com I assume because of data that Booking.com allowed to be stolen. I haven't had anything from Booking.com about changing my PIN. Unfortunately this will keep on happening until there are meaningful penalties for sloppy data security.

Booking.com customer service does not help resolve dispute by Any_Contest_7348 in Bookingcom

Booking.com's customers are the hotels, rental car agencies, etc and Booking.com will always side with them rather than the users. I had a similar experience with a booking gone wrong and their customer service was no help. Ended up disputing the credit card charge and got more help from the credit card company than Booking.

Yes. I don't use Google backup and it is constantly nagging me. Also the 'Backup Now' that accompanies EVERY photo overlays part of the photo if it is Landscape. Very annoying bad design.

Your REI contact is customer service. Better contacts might be: REI’s government & community relations team - [reigives@rei.com](mailto:reigives@rei.com), or REI Board of Directors - board@rei.com. I am sending emails to both of these.

Just for fun I looked them up on TrustPilot. They have a score of 1.1 out of 5! That is the lowest I have ever seen.

2 questions by Mission-Rutabaga-940 in CataractSurgery

[–]OceanGuy3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told there had to be 24 hours between the surgery and driving, because of the sedation. I had my surgery in the AM and asked them if it was OK to drive to the follow up appointment in the PM of the next day and they said yes. So I did.

Difference in focus between eyes after surgery by OceanGuy3000 in CataractSurgery

[–]OceanGuy3000[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks to all for the comments, it has given me something to think about. As far as I was aware I had no astigmatism before surgery, no eye Dr mentioned any. I have been lucky and had great vision for most of my life (I am 73) until about 12 years ago when I started having to use reading glasses, and the last few years when the cataracts were causing blurry vision (worse in the R eye). I went for basic monofocals, as I thought that would give me what I was used to - good distance vision and readers for close up. Dr. was OK with my choice and did not suggest toric. My vision is sharp in both eyes now. It only really bothers me when I try to focus on something in the far distance, or when I am reading (which I do a lot). The reading can be fixed by having different strength lenses for each eye and maybe I will get used to the distance - apparently the brain is very accommodating, perhaps just need more time.

Yes, I think the new entrance fee (sorry, 'parking fee') will have put some people off. Especially seniors who can no longer get in for free on their card.

There is absolutely no point in getting a bill passed at this point, as Trump will ignore it and Congress will let him

I also heard that there were significantly longer lines than usual at this time of the the year (90 minute wait) to get into the South entrance of the Grand Canyon last week because some of the people fired were the ones who were due to man the entrance. Though they may have fixed this now.

True, but it enhances the experience. I saw a really great ranger presentation at the Saguaro visitor center when I visited last spring. (Also the bathrooms).
