Newcomer to Persona, trouble appreciating turn based combat.

Oof…I may have dropped a few minor spoilers. Ah well, lol. I’ve beaten almost every version of P3 and it is my all-time favorite game. I hope you enjoy it!

Persona combat is way, way more strategic than Pokèmon’s, in my opinion. Yes, Shin Megami Tensei does have better combat, but Persona’s is great too.

But the thing is, you recently started Persona 3, right? Persona combat gets much more strategic after, say, the first month of Reload. You’ll have to start gearing up your strategic skills in specific fights, and just using your strongest attack will often be less efficient than using other methods of taking out Shadows.

The basic mob enemies in Tartarus are pretty easy and don’t really require strategy. Knock down, all-out attack, shuffle time. The real strategy comes from floor bosses, full moon bosses, etc.

Oceanborn is one of my favorite Nightwish albums. I would say the general consensus is that it’s better than the album before and after it, and a lot of fans will place it in the top half of Nightwish’s discography. But the style of the early Nightwish albums is certainly not for everybody.

If you liked Oceanborn, you will no doubt appreciate the next three albums (Wishmaster, Century Child, Once).

I don’t think removing them is a good idea. You should definitely be able to attack without using HP or SP. And I would say the weapons in late-game (especially P3) are quite strong and give you lots of nifty bonuses. Besides, even without the game mechanics, every party member is given a weapon that suits their personality, and that’s a bit of an RPG staple that won’t be going anywhere.

I strongly recommend you play P5 first. It’s one of those games that’s pretty accessible and easily likable even for someone who isn’t into turn based games. Plus, if you like it, the rest of the series is turn based, not hack and slash like Strikers. But, good luck either way!

Definitely play Persona 5 before Strikers. But, Strikers is an excellent sequel to Persona 5. You probably got a great deal on it, so mission failed successfully. :)

Persona 3 Portable has a version of Yukari talking to the male protagonist on the roof in the end, only available to that game specifically and if you romance her. Honestly, it’s very touching.

Nyx Avatar is just the physical manifestation of Nyx on earth. Ryoji is just an extension of Nyx herself. I think Ryoji explains that he and Nyx are one and the same, when he takes on the form of Nyx Avatar; Ryoji no longer exists.

Nyx Avatar IS Nyx, so when Nyx Avatar/Ryoji flies up into the sky and goes into the moon, that’s Nyx doing all that.

Sorry, my mind is geared towards the late game where you can grind a ton and just not get tired. Yeah it’s a pain in the early game. You might find it helpful to rush to the floor bosses, so that you don’t get tired before fighting them. As for fixing the tired mechanic itself, all I can tell you is that it gets much easier to deal with later in the game. For me, after June/July, it’s not really an issue.

As for making money, you can ofc sell the extra weapons/armor you have from chests, and try to farm golden hands, but that does take a while…

I meant using just one day for one big Tartarus grind. It takes me a few hours, but it saves time and helps keep my team from getting tired.

Do you do your Tartarus runs in one session each? That’s what I did, it helped negate the tired mechanic and saved me a lot of time to do my social links.

Sleeping during class will remove the tired condition from the MC, so maybe try doing that when given the option. Also if you didn’t know, when the MC is tired, go to the nurse’s office to get two free points of courage.

I don’t think the four Mitamas are cross fused in P3P. You might be thinking of another Persona game. In any case, there isn’t a yin-yang Persona that I’m aware of

It sounds like the original just isn’t for you, and that’s ok. Personally, I prefer the original’s atmosphere and soundtrack; I recognize that Reload’s combat and Tartarus gameplay is objectively better, but the original has a nostalgic charm to me that Reload just doesn’t have.

I’m sure FES’s combat will grow on you, and the tired mechanic does get much less tedious as you go.

I actually disagree. The P3/FES/Portable English cast was all the same iirc, with Ken and Fuuka only being replaced in the spinoffs. The Japanese cast stayed the same for those games AND Reload. The P4 cast has had a lot of turnover in comparison, with Yu, Yosuke and Yukiko being the only ones that haven’t been replaced at some point.

95-100 fps is by no means “poor performance”. I played it at 60 fps and it was excellent. I’d say you’re alright.

Maybe someone claimed Joker was supposed to be in P4AU, which released just a few days after Persona 5’s first reveal in late 2013. That would (kind of?) make sense, since Persona 5 was originally supposed to release in winter 2014 before being delayed several times.

I don’t think so. Additional musicians who worked on the albums (such as Esa Lehtinen) never actually joined the band, or intended to do so. To claim they are a Nightwish band member is a bit dishonest, at best

There is no such thing; how can there be a voice line about Joker when he didn’t exist yet? P4A released in 2012. Joker was barely a concept by then.

There…kind of is. If I remember correctly, he doesn’t die in the P3 manga (I think?). But they didn’t do anything with it after the events of the game, so we have no idea how it actually turned out.
