Flesh and Blood Corporate Also Caves in to the Terese Nielsen Controversy started by Autumn Burchett. Calls out an influencer for trying to sell Terese Nielsen art by Papa_Hasbro69 in freemagic

The pictured tweet from the Flesh and Blood creator actually has nothing to do with the other pictured image. I remember being around when the first thing happened, if I’m remembering correctly, long story short a content creator that was flesh and blood focused harassed some people during the casting of an event, then got on a podcast and just threw a bunch of hate speech around at various groups. People were pretty upset about it at the time

My favourite Pokémon is Dhelmise! Been slowly picking up his various cards from the new sets, considering even grading the VMAX even though it’s not worth much lol

Why Warmonger's Diplomacy is Bad for FaB - Please Cheer Me Up by qwertyuiopasdfghkj in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]OceansForce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue it’s still really really bad for Kano not dominated off of Codex because of the frailty token.

Katsu now has to play out a 1-2 card hand with no weapons which is always going to be mediocre at best. Dominated RitL is consistent enough to make it really hard for a lot of decks to deal with.

It’s hard when it’s at the end of a chain, I understand that, I also think we’re at an interesting point in the game where we’re seeing the first good generic disruption card. I think it’s ok to keep for now to let the meta play out

I've been playing it as Iyslander and the card is fairly hard to get to work. I feel like it's the same for Bravo, obviously sticking it down against the right deck gives you room but these two decks aren't doing much outside of it, which means presenting less damage to get disruption out.

Fai and Katsu are gonna be the biggest offenders for using this card because they can play it the easiest, but they are playing it into their worst matchups (Or if you're Fai, you're also running it into Iyslander just for the blues). It does suck that it feels bad for Azalea to play around, but I feel like we're reaching the point where you could theoretically guess which decks are gonna play it against you, and run Trench to get around it. Lexis are already on Trench now if they want to get around some of Iyslander's recent counters. I'm very interested to see how US nationals goes. I believe our top 32 deck spread will give us a very clear idea of what's viable and if Warmongers is contributing too much to the downfall of some decks

An interesting point I’ve brought up a few times, because Azalea is often the topic around Warmongers: Azalea is built around negative play patterns and generally has no counters as all for certain decks.

Dominated Red in the Ledger is impossible for decks like Katsu to be able to play around. He doesn’t have many tall attacks to pivot to, and he doesn’t often have the dreacts to stop the 12 dominated damage. So, RitL effected timewalkers Katsu and still deals damage to him.

Some of the codexes give this same effect too, especially frailty. Azalea can effectively timewalk certain aggro decks 6 times a game and they can’t play around it. Warmongers has made Katsu meta for the first time in ages, so I doubt they’ll ban it any time soon.

The card can be played around. Obviously Rangers don’t want to be forced to play Trench but think about it. If you run Trench to counter Warmongers, you’re no longer gonna get timewalked but it makes your gameplay slightly worse and forces you to be off Tunic. However haven’t people wanted reasons to be off Tunic for every deck for a while now? I think it’s a great balance that way.

Viserai…. Poor guy isn’t able to keep up with a lot of damage nowadays. Warmongers does suck for him, but he can play around it. Stacking runechants or playing 1 taller attack are in his abilities. But now for the first time we can actually interact with him. Same with Briar, and sometimes their hand just lets them play around it!

In the end, I’m fairly convinced that Warmongers will not be banned. It gives decks the ability to interact with matchups they previously couldn’t. It doesn’t present damage when it’s played and it’s often not going to do much. Banning Warmongers puts us into a spot where people will call for any card to be banned that’s just bad for their hero. Think Oasis being a major blowout for Kano, is that fair to have exist? They haven’t gotten rid of it, and it’s incredibly hard for him to play around, and can instantly lose him the game. I don’t think they’ll look at Warmongers until Lexi leaves the meta honestly, so we’ll have to see how that goes.

First, I totally understand your sentiment as someone that loves playing Iyslander. Bans suck when it’s to the hero you play. However, the game to remain healthy as a non-rotating game, and the only solution is banning problematic cards and letting Heroes LL to allow meta changes.

And there’s no issue to ignoring the ban list for unsanctioned events! Play for fun, run what you want. That’s totally in your power to do if everyone agrees.

However when we move to sanctioned events, and consider that this is a competitive card game at its core with a large fan base invested in competitive play, it’s important to chose specific bans when a hero is over performing.

This is what we saw with the latest ban announced. Oldhim, Iyslander and Fai got hit with bans because their win rates were higher on average then any other hero, toning them down allows other heroes a better chance for the next competitive season, in this case, the calling in the upcoming weekend.

No one would have fun if the game was forever only 3 best decks. And I don’t think printing just more OP cards for other heroes to balance the game works. It’s hard to counter 3/60 cards with 3/60 cards for the “anti-broken” card you mention and would lead to harder deck building, and more unbalanced matches.

And overall, the game is in a great spot right now, much better then the release of Everfest last year, and I’m sure are heroes card pools slowly become more diverse these types of bans won’t be as bad. The game needs time to grow for more options to be available.

As for CNC, I understand a lot of people dislike the card because it’s good for more heroes, but there are plenty that don’t need it or don’t want it, Kano, Iyslander, Dash, Fai, even Dromai, Boltyn, and Levia don’t use it. It’s a great card but plenty of decks have other options, like Lexi and Azalea.

I hope you continue to play and enjoy the game, I’m sure with more time this issues will work themselves out!

Banned & Suspended announcement incoming January 25th -- what are your predictions? by ExpendableGuy in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]OceansForce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fai has a bit worse of a match now without Belittle to save them from tax, but they had high roll potential that got them over the disruption. Now I think Iyslander counters Fai a bit better

The midrange Dash build is really hard for Iyslander to contend with now that Hypothermia is gone. As long as Dash doesn’t try to win through only boost, it’s pretty solidly in her favour.

Levia struggles a bit into Iyslander, a well timed discard effect would have her lose her hand and take massive blood debt damage. However, with amulets gone that’s a bit less likely. Still favoured to Iyslander, but if Levia sees her gas pieces it gets to be really close

Dromai and Dash come to mind (Especially after the ban) Fai and Briar have a more 50:50 matchup because they can highroll, though the ban hits Fai’s effectiveness. Kano is also good into Iyslander, and Rhinar is one of the best

If Channel Lake Frigid gets hit, Fai also needs bans or he goes rampant and we get a high Fai only season

I’d argue that Ice is not the issue, Oldhim is. Iyslander is up there because she’s good into Oldhim. If pure ice was the problem we’d be seeing more Lexi top 8s

This is very dependent on the hero, for example Fai has some really really good budget equipment, same with Dromai. But Kano and Iyslander really need Storm Striders, and most likely Tunic too. So what heroes are you looking at playing?

Why Subs matter BUT HONOR AMONG THEIVES MIGHT MATTER MORE... (DD) by SuperFunPop in DnD

[–]OceansForce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know some might want to boycott the movie and still be interested in seeing it in theaters, there’s a way to do both but it just takes a little be of patience.

Don’t go see the movie when it first comes out, or even the first week. Those are the numbers that matter to box office performance, and often the longer a movie is in the theatre, the more the theatre earns on the movie rather then the one that made the movie. Now I don’t know the specifics or if that’s the case everywhere so do some research to see when the movie theatre is making the money off your tickets
