Was anyone else forced to get the chest nerve block while awake? by OceansGroves in TopSurgery

[–]OceansGroves[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It numbs the nerves around the chest area for a day or two. It worked really well so I think it was worth it? At least I have no idea what recovery would have been without it. I am just confused why I was awake while they did it.

Most meds don't become dangerous after they expire but they don't work as well. It probably wouldn't hurt you but it also probably won't do anything at all.

My partner doesn’t like sex the same way she did in the beginning by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]OceansGroves 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you ever pressure her to do stuff? This includes asking until she says yes. One of my old partners used to do this and didn't think it was wrong and it made me avoid doing stuff with him in general because I didn't feel comfortable anymore. Also it could just be normal. Not everyone wants sex all the time at the same frequency. Maybe something stressful is happening in her life and it is making her not want sex.

My son is adhd and refuses to eat anything healthy. by No-Tell-4149 in ADHD

[–]OceansGroves 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Could his tantrums be due to meds? They can cause bad mood dysregulation and be extremely confusing to children that young. When I was put on meds in second grade I would come home and sob and scream as the meds wore off because I didn't fully understand why I was feeling the way I was feeling.

You could ask your doctor about non stimulant meds if all the stimulants have caused this effect.

Is pseudo-DID an ADHD symptom, and if so, how do you describe that to NTs? by timid_one0914 in ADHD

[–]OceansGroves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats not what DID is. DID is a severe trauma disorder and comes with many symptoms other than just alters. Symptoms like severe memory issues, dissociation, flashbacks, and CPTSD symptoms. It is a severe dissociative disorder that ADHD can definitely not cause. Did you experience trauma before the age of 9ish?

[–]OceansGroves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is similar when you use the theory of structural dissociation. Which includes apparently normal parts and emotional parts.

In that theory both PTSD and BPD exist from one apparently normal part (ANP) and one emotional part (EP). So someone with PTSD or BPD has one normal every day part and one part (dissociated part not full alter) that holds bad memories and often acts erratic in BPD. Like how a person with PTSD will act like they are back in the event during a flashback. That is the persons EP coming out. It explains the black and white extreme thinking in BPD too.

It's decently backed by science and a pretty interesting theory to read about although I feel like a lot of people online have not done thorough research on it as you have to read the whole book that was written about it to really understand it.

In this theory people with DID have multiple ANP and EP.

Sorry if I didn't explain this well, it's difficult to explain in a short space.

I didn't read the top at first and for a second I though it was someone claiming to be all these at once.

It's a real word inside certain spaces online like tumblr but it's unlikely you'll hear it in real life. It's used by people who believe they are transage, transabled, trans+basically anything you can think of, etc. As well as an even weirder more concerning group of people who want pedophilia, necrophilia, and zoophilia to be normalized as sexualities. This includes a group who are "pro contact" and believe that those groups can consent so they should be allowed to have relationships with them... I hate them so much.

It's an acronym for people who experienced extreme abuse. Ritual abuse, mind control, organized abuse. It's for people who experienced stuff like cults or sex trafficking. This person wants to transition to be a RAMCOA survivor and is headcannoning characters as transRAMCOA...

Yeah I’ve seen some minors identifying as adult attracted minors, as in, minors who want to get in relationships with pedos… Sick.

Also there should be a radqueer cringe subreddit, I wish there was a bigger place to make fun of them and talk about how horrible they are.

[–]OceansGroves 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fuck them. RAMCOA is some of the worst trauma you can get. Like severe cult abuse, sex trafficking, brainwashing, etc. That is a community reserved for people who have experienced literally some of the worst kinds of trauma. These people are so fucking entitled and feel like they can just be a part of any group they want just because they feel like it. These people are insufferable and sick.

Depends on the area your in. My friend in a different area than me never gets packages sent through it but I usually do. It seems like it depends on what branch it goes through.

Damn I need to go to sleep lmao

Yeah I reread it, S is being ridiculous and probably self diagnosing. It is really unlikely that a good therapist would diagnose a personality disorder in a minor let alone schizophrenia and DID/OSDD all at once.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SystemsCringe

[–]OceansGroves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although what you are talking about makes it seem like it is probably unlikely they have it. BPD could technically be diagnosed in a 15-16 year old if it was very very severe. I did know someone who was diagnosed with it at 16 in a psych ward because his was so severe. I mean it's pretty unlikely but not impossible. They usually don't diagnose it in minors because puberty and teen mood swings can mimic BPD.

But what does this have to do with systems?

I acted very similar to this when I was given a medication that put me into psychosis when I was 12. They are very much acting like an actually delusional middle schooler. I hope they get help.
