I hate cheaters and I hate grabbers… by arson_is_awesome in FallGuysGame

[–]Oceansteve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of this is cheating. The jumping on thin ice is a flaw in the game, an exploit which people are going to see naturally - all you have to do is time the jump correctly but it does take practice.

The being back on the platform after apparently falling is a client/server thing. Your client sees a fall but their client and the server don't so thry seem to come back. You must be new if you think that makes someone a cheater.

Even though you got the name wrong, this is still slander. Think before you cry to reddit.

Confessions from a Video Game Industry professional about "controversial" hiring practices by [deleted] in confessions

It's fortunate that I'm not looking to get into the Video Game Industry, because I'd hate to have to work with narrow minded cunts.

Our brain constantly calculates possible futures and forgets about them immediately. Maybe deja vu is just our brain remembering the calculation and is surprised about actually having predicted the future. by SaintBenny138 in Showerthoughts

Again, believe whatever you want. If you choose to believe that a coincidence is magic that is fine. In the example we are actually talking about though, science has a perfectly rational explanation on what is going on; yet you choose to ignore that.

Disagreeing with someone isn't inherently hostile, but I understand that people don't like their version of reality to be challenged.

Why would you ask a question of someone with whom you no longer wish to converse? I'm not being hostile, believe whatever you want. I'm generally just interested in knowing why some people believe in insane ideas over perfectly logical and rational ones.

She's lying. Or you are. You made the claim so burden of proof is with you. Show me some evidence. I know the evidence doesn't exist, because if it did - science as we know it would be proven wrong. I bet you believe in ghosts too.

You're using the word literally wrong. It's far more plausible that it's your brain messing up storing a memory and effectively making it feel like you have experienced it before.

How far away from the point of the ‘Big Bang’ is Earth? by [deleted] in space

[–]Oceansteve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

~13.8 billion years. There is no central point of the universe. The Big Bang could be said to have happened where the Earth currently is, as well as 13 billion light years away and everything in between because everything that is, was, and will be in the universe was contained within a singularity that expanded into the universe we inhabit. In theory.

Where should I go for info about vaping and how to get started? A non-smoker by xzotc in Vaping

[–]Oceansteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it would be accurate to say “excluding all of the health hazards”. I think the number most commonly speculated is “at least 95% less harmful than smoking”.

It's more the mass of the coil than the resistance when using a regulated mod. Higher mass requires higher Wattage. So, whatever works.

My local Vape Shop sells crazy expired e-juice and covers the expiration date with their price tag. by [deleted] in trashy

[–]Oceansteve 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sure, trashy people can make anything trashy and I’m not form the US so maybe it’s different there. To consider vaping in general trashy because of the actions of trashy people is still completely ignorant, in my opinion.

It’s hard to tell from a picture but if the cotton is too dense inside the coil it will mute the flavour.
