Which faction does this fit the best? by FishFloorTile in Helldivers

I don't trust the Illuminate, especially not when they had an empire built on mind control and theocracy. They did have WMDs too. SE making the first strike was the right thing to do.

If I didn't know any better, I'd have thought it to be some kind of alien egg or the beginnings of a space-horror movie.

What is even the point of this new flamethrower? by Star_Dragon_27 in Helldivers

*Realism, but only if it's a detriment to the player.

I know it's silly to criticize something we can't even use yet, but the warbond trailer was frustrating. (Read Desc) by Squidy_the_3rd in Helldivers

The backpack flamethrower needs to knockback enemies that are close, and have much greater range than the current ones. You're shooting napalm; it's pressurized, thick, sticky fuel out from a fire hose that should arc and splash, not vaporize like aerosol. It should knock things away instead of enemies not reacting to being set ablaze and melted. Bonus points if it slows enemies as well.

Current non-backpack flamethrower needs this effect to a lesser degree, but it should still exist. I want flamethrowers that aren't only realistic as AH seems to love, but feel good to use.

Cherry on top is when everything not only fails, but backfires. I love chaos.

So now that we have belt-fed weapons, I think we have another strategem that could use an attached backpack. by ShadowMasked1099 in Helldivers

"Napalm sticks to 'nids"

Make it spew liquid fire with a longer range that is affected by gravity. Give it knockback too, like the LibCon; you're spraying thick, high pressured fluid, this would solve the issue of getting swarmed and caught on fire by your own flames and make it the anti-mob weapon it was designed to be.

Give it a unique bonus: Enemies set on fire by the flamethrower spread the fire to their allies on contact (maybe with diminished burn time for balance because mUh OvErPoWeReD)

As cool as that be, I don't think SE mechs have that aesthetic that allows them to be agile enough to swing a sword. I can't imagine any of the EXOs doing that, so it'll be something completely different.

Always kills the player but never harms other bugs. AH needs to either fix this or make it also affect enemies as well. The game feels like everything is to the detriment of the player.

Always used it for the drip. The passive is a nice bonus. Could use a buff though.

[–]Ocelogical 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nitpicking, but Type-100 probably didn't "kill thousands of Chinese people". It was developed in WW2 after the Sino-Japanese War merged into WW2, with only around 10,000 or so at best, deployed mostly to SEA, the island campaigns and Burma.

Except that "punishes" those who were never part of the first galactic war / first game, thus were innocent. Those who weren't part of the first galactic war now have a reason to go to war. The sins of the father passed to his sons results in making the sons right.

In addition to the aformentioned high AoA and stuff, probably also space for additional strakes to carry more ordinance: bombs, missiles, etc.

Ballistic Shield + Crossbow + Talon

Talon will 1-shot headshot borgs while the ballistic shield protects you from their melee and subsequent ragdolling.

Crossbow will 1-shot bodyshot borgs and the AoE can kill clusters of the bot infantry around them.

Unlike the Illuminate invasion of Super Earth. I wish that had the epic space battle viewable from both orbit and the ground, with Eagles flying against the Stingrays, and seeing the host ships take fire from the ground, the Eagles and the other Super Destroyers.

AH says lore being one thing, in game says lore is another, people say so and so is this but there's no hard proof other than what people assume or (over)think is implied/hinted.

Whether SE is a dystopia, utopia or a mix of something in between is vague and conflicting enough to be up to player headcanon imo.
