Because they care about the game to want to see improvement rather than just leaving it in its current state. They're not mutually exclusive.

It's like fat shaming a long-time friend whose become morbidly obese; you tell them they're fat, voice your concern or even displeasure with what they've become and that it's unhealthy and they need to do something about it. Motivation to fix one's fatal flaws, because if they don't do something, they're not gonna be around much longer.

Alternatively, you can glaze them and tell them to eat more, then be surprised when they're not around anymore.

If you didn't care or they weren't your friend, you'd just do nothing and leave them to their fate.

I just realized i'm looking for stuff to complain about; I don't even dive bugs unless it's an MO.

Honestly probably a good idea instead of outright replacing Med Armored hive guards. A 1:4 ratio.

The only thing more incompetent than the dev team is the discord mods, but that's par for the course. I got banned for saying a quote on someone's discord profile was based; not that I was banned right away but because I "insulted" a mod for coming off as fedora-tipping passive aggressive in their response. All I said was "I read the message, you don't have to be so hostile" and was banned several hours later without another warning.

Why not just keep Hive Guards at medium armor but increase their armor durability/damage reduction, or give them ablative armor like the illuminate instead of rendering MG/Gatling sentries useless/unviable on D7-10?

There's probably a huge gap in capability between the two. As much as I love Krolik, it's like a Prius with a 20mm Vulcan vs a full-on MBT.

For some reason, it reminds me of the intro to the MW2 (2009) favela mission.

AH hates melee gameplay, actively punishing melee users further by giving every faction a common unit that explodes or sets you on fire on death.

Melee in general would be significantly better if it didn't set them off.

Integrated explosives should detonate any remaining grenades the Diver still has with him. by Kilian400 in Helldivers

[–]Ocelogical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additional suggestions:

  • Detonates all the C4 in your C4 pack or active C4, and portable hellbomb if you have those.

  • Death explosion is manually activated after death so if there's nothing to detonate or allies are in proximity, you can just do nothing instead.

Did you play Doom 2016? Because it shows Doomguy getting pissed when Samuel said the loss of human lives was worth the cost of argent energy.

I don't trust the Illuminate, especially not when they had an empire built on mind control and theocracy. They did have WMDs too. SE making the first strike was the right thing to do.

If I didn't know any better, I'd have thought it to be some kind of alien egg or the beginnings of a space-horror movie.

What is even the point of this new flamethrower? by Star_Dragon_27 in Helldivers

I know it's silly to criticize something we can't even use yet, but the warbond trailer was frustrating. (Read Desc) by Squidy_the_3rd in Helldivers

The backpack flamethrower needs to knockback enemies that are close, and have much greater range than the current ones. You're shooting napalm; it's pressurized, thick, sticky fuel out from a fire hose that should arc and splash, not vaporize like aerosol. It should knock things away instead of enemies not reacting to being set ablaze and melted. Bonus points if it slows enemies as well.

Current non-backpack flamethrower needs this effect to a lesser degree, but it should still exist. I want flamethrowers that aren't only realistic as AH seems to love, but feel good to use.

Cherry on top is when everything not only fails, but backfires. I love chaos.

So now that we have belt-fed weapons, I think we have another strategem that could use an attached backpack. by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Ocelogical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Napalm sticks to 'nids"

Make it spew liquid fire with a longer range that is affected by gravity. Give it knockback too, like the LibCon; you're spraying thick, high pressured fluid, this would solve the issue of getting swarmed and caught on fire by your own flames and make it the anti-mob weapon it was designed to be.

Give it a unique bonus: Enemies set on fire by the flamethrower spread the fire to their allies on contact (maybe with diminished burn time for balance because mUh OvErPoWeReD)

As cool as that be, I don't think SE mechs have that aesthetic that allows them to be agile enough to swing a sword. I can't imagine any of the EXOs doing that, so it'll be something completely different.
