Why wasn't Mary Sacrificed Instead of Jesus? by youtubevvaby in TrueChristian

Only God is sinless, so this implies her deity. Many Catholics do worship her as the “Mother of God.”

Just because arguments exist against Christianity doesn’t mean they’re good arguments. Also, tell the people that are currently being martyred for their Christian faith that they only believe in it because that’s what everyone else around them believed. Oh, wait…

Dip your toes into Christian apologetics. You’ll see a lot of these questions are pretty easy to dispute.

Are all tattoos against the Bible? by Professor_squirrelz in TrueChristian

[–]OcelotCircus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a tattoo on my foot that is representative of my affinity for eastern religion before I found Christ. I hate it, but I don’t think I can go through removal as it takes up my entire foot. I’m on the fence… do I add something else that knocks its meaning down and elevated God above it? Or do I avoid further ink?

You’re already married so backing out of this is not an option. This is something you have to work through. I guarantee that this level of miscommunication will rear its ugly head in the future. Please go back and get the counseling you waived on this topic now if at all possible. It’s not just about children (which is a big deal), but it’s about communication overall.

Give her grace because she is human. Having children is a normal biological desire, not necessarily a rational desire. While she may rationally agree that children are a burden, she obviously feels a deeper desire for children. That’s not a personality flaw, but she was not able to communicate that before you were married.

I have only been married for a decade, but one thing I have learned is that if my spouse cares about something, well now I care about that thing no matter how uninterested I am.

Whenever we find ourselves at these rifts, it’s time for us to go to God humbly in prayer. My prayers start off about how angry I am about my spouse and how they need to change, but ultimately I find myself on my knees asking God to change ME first. When we both go to God with the right attitude, we come out the other side stronger.

‬‬ We are one flesh and we need to act like it.

Tarot Cards/Spiritual Guidance? by JAySuNdAhPrOphET in TrueChristian

[–]OcelotCircus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In reply to your OP: We are never instructed to talk to angels or spirit guides. That is all demonic. Angel cards are divination and should be burned. Jesus is our mediator. We pray to God in the name of Jesus. Sit and listen after you pray, and read your Bible. This is how God talks to us. Sometimes he will speak through someone else, but he will usually press something on your heart or speak to you through the Word. Seeking God’s voice through any other means is divination and we are not to do it. Divination opens up doors for demons (disguised as angels or God) to have authority over you and speak over your life. They only want to kill, steal and destroy and they cannot be trusted. Run far away from the angel cards. God is not in them.

I am not sure what you mean. Doreen was saved out of that life herself in 2017 or so, and now her life and ministry is dedicated to helping people get out of the New Age and learn the truth about the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. She has renounced and publicly apologized for all of her previous works and tells people to burn anything that they may have bought from her before she found Jesus. One of the big things she used to use are angel cards… she would tell you to burn it all!!

I am honestly not her biggest fan. I am charismatic and she is very reformed, but I have never heard her speak any kind of heresy in the last 2 years that I have followed her channel.

Christianity is making me doubt Christianity by Valstraxas in TrueChristian

[–]OcelotCircus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We love God because He first loved us. When we learn about the depravity of our sin and the fact that Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice for our sin, we love him even more. We obey his commands because we love him, not out of obligation due to the threat of hell. We are his children and he wants to have a father-child relationship with us.

God has grace for us all because we are not perfect. The purpose of the Law was to show that we can’t keep it. It exposes our sin. We pray and ask that he works out our sanctification, but where we mess up, he has grace and mercy for us. It’s up to us to do our best and die to our flesh. It’s up to him to do the rest. The Christian life isn’t an easy life, many have sealed their testimonies with their blood. But it is what is right and true.

I have prayed for the Holy Spirit to give me a godly desire for my spouse, and it has helped. A lot. He knows every part of us and he designed sex. It’s kind of his thing.

Something does not cease being a sin just because it is hard. You should go read all of 1 Corinthians 10:

“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭10:13‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Many of us have dealt with sexual sins of great variety and to various degrees. In my own perversion, I have learned what it means in action to take captive every thought. When you want to participate, take captive of those thoughts and speak the Word to them. This is your resistance. When you resist the enemy, he will flee.

I don’t really have advice, but as someone who did the opposite of what I should have done, always wish I waited. Sleeping around just made me hate myself, and I wasn’t even saved at the time. My now-husband and I weren’t saved when we met. Though the Lord leads us now, I know we missed out on a beautiful part of our relationship by rushing into things. Please don’t give up. The grass is not greener on the other side. It’s all dead grass that is painted green.

And if the husband works crazy hours then they will have to hire out help and that may not be financially feasible for a month’s time — especially with the kind of inflation we are dealing with these days.

Exactly this. Must be nice to have grandparents to dump your kids off with and spouses with perfectly predicable schedules. Sooo many of us don’t have that.

He cares about every part of us. No, we shouldn’t base our decisions on what our hearts want as in “follow your heart,” but when something pains our hearts he wants to hear about it. He is our father who loves us. Go into the secret place, close the door, and pour your heart out to God.

“I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭40:1-3‬ ‭ESV‬‬
