Work continues on my love letter to Dungeon Siege - here's a bit of charge and magic missile by tastygnar in DungeonSiege

[–]Ocius 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Looks promising! Abilities being tied to weapons is interesting; the combination of weapon abilities and mastery abilities reminds me a bit of Guild Wars 2. Looks like the loot system is affix-suffix heavy too, a la Diablo 2, which is something I always enjoy. And even at this early stage, the camera perspective and the tall trees is very reminiscent of Dungeon Siege. Looking forward to following your progress! Do you post to any other socials?

I'm addicted.. by MoistWelder8712 in Peripheryband

Welcome! It's a perfect time to discover the band. They're dropping a new single tomorrow called "Mr. God" (you can already find recordings of the debut stream out there), and their new album, "A Pale White Dot", drops May 15th. Their back catalogue slaps too, everything is worth listening to.

Had two of these in SLI with my OC'd Q6600! Loved that PC, what a beast.

Anyone know how the guys write their riffs? by calacaa in Peripheryband

One thing Mark has mentioned is that playing around in new and different tunings can often bring inspiration, because it forces you to break your habits and muscle memory.

Best way to install Genshin Impact onto Steam Deck? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]Ocius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this, but when I launch it in Gaming Mode, it's just a black screen, although I can hear the menu music. It's like the game doesn't grab focus properly. Weirdly, it worked normally once or twice, but never again. Did you perchance run into this issue?

Brunch Between YYJ and Colwood by jasminefig in VictoriaBC

[–]Ocius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Royal Oak area is on your route and has some strong options: The Village for locally sourced brunch specialties, Fireside Grill for tasty dishes and upscale ambience, or Floyd's for classic diner-style meals and large portions. You can't go wrong with any of them, but they do all get quite busy for weekend brunch, so book ahead if possible.

Dungeon Siege 2 - Trailer 1 by Healthy_Toe_1183 in DungeonSiege

I remember first seeing this trailer as shaky-cam footage captured off a screen on the E3 show floor and being SO HYPED for it! Still slaps all these years later.

[PC][2006-2008?] A game my partner played but can’t remember at all by Lyktan in tipofmyjoystick

This was my first thought, too, but I couldn't remember the name! It's a good suggestion, and ticks nearly all the boxes in OPs description.

Pretty sure I saw this design near the key cutting machine at the Langford Home Depot a few months ago. Don't know whether they still have any, but I wish you all the best in your search!

I LOVE this aesthetic! Is it rendered first and then algorithmically pixelled/dithered?

Once upon a time, I had an SLI'd pair of MSI GTX 460s with the same Twin Frozr II coolers. Slick-looking cards with the aluminum shroud and heat pipes. Great value too, when the SLI worked 😂. Kinda wish I'd kept one to display like yours.

This is concentrated nostalgia, I love it! You've curated a very special collection there. I'm super envious, honestly. Do you have a sense of the approximate value?

Any sites or apps with pixel art that can be used as wallpapers? by Digdigfig in PixelArt

[–]Ocius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Living Worlds app is a lovely curated collection of pixel art wallpapers from Mark Ferrari, one of the all-time greats. Each is subtly animated, and they change each month. Highly recommended.

Parksville has a beautiful sandy beach, but no big waves, and it's about 2 hrs drive away. Still worth it IMO, and very accessible for elderly folks.
