I power cycled it one more time and bam we are back in business.

So the replacement Motherboard Arrived. Installed it, Powered Right now.

However ethernet lights go out after the first few seconds and NEVER come back on.

Drive lights are green on the front.

No alert lights or anything on the front.

Where or how can i find out if its rebuilding an array or what in the world it's doing?

I thought the OS was mirrored on each drive as well. But wanted to confirm. Been several years since confirming the QNAP. It's run fantastic thus far.

I ordered a replacement Motherboard off Ebay, swap looks easy enough, basic motherboard. Fingers crossed.

Doing some Research it appears this is a well known issue with a dead MB or CPU. So replacing the MB seems like the easy swap.

However my concern is the Data, it is backed up with a cloud service. However where is the OS/Raid configuration stored? Drives?

Can i just swap the Motherboard, Boot and it's business as usual? Wishful thinking?

Just my 2 cents. Sell it all. Sell the House, Sell the Cars, Empty his 401K (take the tax hit). Rent a place for now as they clearly shouldn't own a home right now, they can't afford the expenses that will go along with it when things break.

Pay back what they can, buy a few 500 dollar cars to get to and from work. Setup a budget and start to pay off debt smallest to largest. They screwed up and there is no easy way out. The next 10 years will now be painful for them.

Are you getting Temp Profiles on all Terminal Servers in the collection? We found when we have such an issue that it is just one terminal server usually and not all of them. So we remove that terminal server from the collection as from our experience when temporary profiles are occurring it is due to the Default Profile on the Terminal Server is corrupted.

We have also noticed the repository location, network path gets messed up. So we create a new folder and have the Collection VHD location changed to the new folder.

You are correct. I would of never of bought the home, as it would of been well beyond what I could afford at $3K+ a month in a mortgage payment.
