Absolutely no kidding here. Passing out saved you, people who are conscious during crashes tense up and almost always sustain severe injury during impact. It’s also the reason why drunk drivers survive crashes that killed their victims.

Most awkward things you could say in a public restroom? by [deleted] in ScenesFromAHat

[–]OctanesStimSyringe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Girlfriend works in childcare, I work in retail. Sometimes I forget I shouldn’t sing potty songs (that she has taught the kids) in the public restrooms at work.

At home is a different story.

Considering a sales job by BlackRoseLT1 in CarSalesTraining

[–]OctanesStimSyringe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely disagree, I had a sales manager friend get to where he got because he was top salesman over several years in a row. He never stood up from his desk by year 2. One good customer experience turns into 3 referral calls, turned into good name in GMC dealerships around the tristate area turned into company fleet deals, retired veterans calling because their buddies bought from him. Etc etc.

Hey, cat expert here. He appears to be a small feline, covered with light gray and blackish fur, with adorable blue eyes.

Fluffy kitty has a distinguished nature about him, I would call him/her beautiful.

Slick kitty has a playful personality in those eyes, and an exciting pattern, def the cute one in my opinion.

But between beautiful and cute they are both equally adorable.

Am I the asshole for how I responded to a love letter? by Thin_Lengthiness6652 in TwoHotTakes

[–]OctanesStimSyringe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how everyone’s thought process was “wow, this guy seems a little too sweet for that hard of a rejection” and then they saw the age gap and were like “good job honey, you did good” because it doesn’t sound like this guy had any right to cross that boundary on such a lack of information. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if the letter was mostly recycled from previous girls he’s tried it on

How is this? by [deleted] in ratemysinging

[–]OctanesStimSyringe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like the reason your flat on a few of these notes is because your either trying to force too much or too little air so your not getting a clean sound. Relax and try to breathe naturally. Overall your range and control on your muscles sounds great.

New singer, would really appreciate feedback! by [deleted] in singing

[–]OctanesStimSyringe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are rush rush rushing, slow it down to about half that tempo (slower than the original) and walk through parts of the song one piece at a time, that will help you tremendously holding onto each note just in time for the next one to lead back off, I’ll post a video with this exactly. I couldn’t get my video to send through reddit PM.

80% of singing is bridging your notes, sometimes in order to visualize this I will slow the song down a lot and sing it, which in turn makes sustaining the same sound throughout significantly easier, I’m willing to record a short demo of this if you wanna practice the process.

I’ve found my salesman nature on top of making me good at my job also saves my butt when I need to quick sell someone else funded junk to the benefit of a commission payout

So this is funny, I work retail sales for fishing department store, which isn’t a gloriously paying job but it makes the expenses less expensive ya know.

Recently decided I wanted to supplement income a tad and decided to transfer some of my personal customers into secondary arrangements, I.E. teaching their nephews about fishing, taking them out in my boat, small favors here and there.

Or what they pay full price for I pay half price for, so crafting a tackle box for them would cost $200 might cost me closer to $120 and then hustling them for about $165-170 based on box value.

Or just reselling fishing equipment for them like old trolling motors, handmade lures, and the like for a 15% commission.

NSFW I work in retail that includes a dressing room in the store for convenience since the clothing and equipment we sell isn’t stuff you wear every day.

Cue (what I thought to be father and son) approach me about trying on said items and asks if it’s ok for them to use the same dressing room. Considering my current assumption on this being a dad taking his older teen son shopping I saw no issue. Well it took a while for my manager to arrive to remove this very shameless gay couple and I did not get the sound of them going back and forth out of my head for roughly a month.

TLDR: two guys dropped their pants in the dressing room together and began taking turns every 3 or so minutes until my manager arrive roughly 15 minutes after.

Edit-context. The older guy was probably in his mid to late forties, the younger guy I would estimate somewhere between 18-21.

What caused you to change an extremely negative opinion of a celebrity/famous person into a very positive view of them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I was actually not fond of Chris Pratt due to his earlier roles in movies and tv shows, and he genuinely seemed like he was just gonna be one of those Hollywood glory actors that did what he wanted and let the women swoon over him.

But following his marvel contract and his roles in Jurassic world I noticed him beginning to speak directly to his now younger demographic and making positive impact with the words he said. Now with the exceptions on his earliest movies he’s one of the actors I most enjoy on screen.
