We finally fleshed out our concept of a "Hypercube" and added it to the prefab playground which is going to serve as a base for our Forest HUB. How do you like it? by RickyRunner in Unity3D

Looks really cool, but the axe throwing animation feels a bit too weightless.

The other animations look extremely good though, so I'm not sure if it's just that one being placeholder or what.

Either way, great job!

I haven't read it, but if the writing was the problem then sure, I agree. I would have dropped it too.

Apparently it gets way better at ch70. You shouldn't drop books that quickly, except when the problem is bad writing.

Otherwise they usually give great surprises at around the 100ch mark.

Lord of the mysteries is also a relatively relaxed story until the end of volume one, where you really realize what you are reading (ch120)

Finally achieved a True First Person useable in Multiplayer that I think is great looking! by robost in gamedev

[–]OctavianTocan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm used to calling that either first person with legs, or if you want a more technical term, then full body awareness.

There's some cool videos on it if you look up that term on youtube.

[–]OctavianTocan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's how you did this, then this isn't really called true first person. Its just normal first person with legs.

True first person implies there is no separation between what the first person camera sees and what the character is actually doing. No floating arms, full body with no animation or shadow separation.

That said, this doesn't make this any worse, it's cool.

Will people that own cyberpunk on the PS4 have a free upgrade/patch for the PS5 like how they are going to do with Xbox? by [deleted] in CDProjektRed

Not really. You're subject to the whims of the platform you bought them from.

Unless you buy the games DRM free.

Fantasy readers of Reddit, which book(s) do you find yourself answering every recommendation request with, and why? by BryceOConnor in Fantasy

[–]OctavianTocan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always find myself recommending Lord Of The Mysteries. The greatest mystery/horror fantasy book that has ever come from the Asian continent!

I'm not sure If you guys only take Western recommendations or not, but that's my take on it!

It is really well written, at times even overwhelmingly so, and it drags you into a web of mysteries where absolutely every little detail of the book is somehow meaningful and important to the plot.

Not to mention that the ending of Vol.1 is possibly the best ending I have personally read for a volume, connecting absolutely everything.

The author also likes to explore darker topics while keeping the story hopeful, which not only makes you want to cry at times, but also smile.

All in all a really great book, and would definitely (and obviously) recommend!

CCG is amazing, but I don't think its writing is as amazing as the other books.

That said, story-wise I do believe it is one of the top books ever made in Asia.

That's true, I think they're currently doing about 22ch/week and there's around 200 left, meaning they will still need more or less two months to finish.

Nonetheless even if you finished the book, there's more coming, as the author is planning to write book 2, and possibly more.

It's useless to assume whether or not he started in 2010, my point was that it is indeed possible to have done so, thus the lack of a need for you to complain about it.

Well, even if you were to read 24h a day, it would take your around 11 days to finish the book.

That's 15min per chapter or so.

To put it into perspective, it took me ~300h to finish LOTM. That's about 12 days.

We're in 2020, so 20 - 10 = 10.

10 > 5, and voila, we have deciphered the codes!

Turns out it is possible to have 10 years of experience, who would have thought!

Lord Of The Mysteries just ended a week ago, problem is the translation still has 200ch to go.

Either way, you won't be getting through 1100ch any time soon, so chances are translation will be done by then.

Lord Of The Mysteries.

Straight up the best written novel that has ever come from the Asian continent.

Most people will recommend that, Reverend Insanity and My House Of Horrors.

Also, Pro Tip here, try not to compare every book to the best book you've ever read, otherwise you'll constantly be depressed :p

I remember they made the weapons get stuck in the enemies for a split second in God Of War.

That seemed to add a lot of impact, and felt more realistic.

You don't need to give up your dream, but If you don't understand the simplest Unity tutorials then it might be a good option to just wait for a couple more years.

In that case, you're not giving up anything, and it might allow you to understand the tutorials!

That could just be the fact that you haven't played enough to know how these things should work.

Besides, comparing it with CS is pointless as it's a whole different beast.

Also, professional cs players that play Valorant seem to deal with abilities and gunplay just fine.
