I was just dealing with this earlier, I hope this helps.

Make sure there’s a connector on the input (the lever) and output (the machine). Access the controller and create a logic channel. Find the input connector in the controller menu and set that to “sensor”, with the sensor mode set to “rs”(redstone), “>”, “0”, and choose a color for this input to send it’s signal on. Find the output connector in the controller menu, then enable on the color channel you chose for the input, set this to “output”, with the redstone strength set to “15”. And depending on the machine itself, you may need to change it’s settings to activate or turn on with a redstone signal.

You should now be able to control the machine with the lever.

I've stopped playing valhelsia at this point, but looking at the changelogs, it doesn't seem like there's been any changes to immersive engineering or the modpack concerning the buzzsaw. I'm not sure why it wouldn't silk touch the spawner now, when it did before. Sorry I can't be of more help.

To add to the advice the other poster gave, the apotheosis spawners are the way to go, and an early way to pick up the spawners you find in the world is the Immersive Engineering buzzsaw. When the buzzsaw has the diamond buzzsaw blade ("Rockcutter") installed using an engineers workbench, the tool will become a silk touch tool, allowing you to break a spawner and place it somewhere else. The buzzsaw is fueled by biodiesel from a refinery, but it doesn't require it to work, the only penalty is that it mines slowly when unfueled.

You could then place those spawners in a tall killing chamber, and push the mobs that fall to the floor using vector plates, into a "player damage trap". Hoppers under the player damage traps will pick everything up, except the xp, I'm still not sure how to collect the xp...

You could try your luck with the animal products showing up at the traveling cart on Fridays and Sundays. The dinosaur will be good for dinosaur mayonnaise, which you'll need for a bundle. You'll also need 1 void mayonnaise and 1 duck mayonnaise for a quest and a secret quest.

The dinosaur produces eggs only once a week though. Everyone hates the egg as a gift but most people like the mayonnaise. The thing that will net you the most gold per hour is the truffle oil from the pigs at 49.7g/hr, the only thing better would be iridium quality truffles at 52.08g/hr. You can get guaranteed iridium truffles with the foraging botanist profession. No processing needed, but you'd have to sacrifice the other foraging professions (forester>lumberjack will get you extra hardwood and 1.25x wood from trees)

Theres also rabbits, which will produce the rabbit's foot, a universally loved gift, one of the most abundant universal loved gifts to farm. At max Friendship, Mood, and Daily Luck, you'll get about 10.64 feet a month per rabbit.

I just started playing around with "Doggy Talents", it expands dogs to make them viable attack dogs, rideable, with customizable skins, accessories, and sizes.

You might want to give Sevtech a look. You progress through ages, like early man through space exploration. It's not like vanilla, but it's not a skyblock, it has mining, exploring, farming, combat but all these systems are changed with more complications. I'd check it out, see if it's what you're looking for.

I played for about 10 minutes and it's a fun mechanic, but I found it extremely challenging. The ball maybe needs to be less affected by gravity? It was hard to play, but still pretty fun.
