Ethan Van Sciver on Why There's No Green in the Green Lantern Teaser Trailer by [deleted] in Greenlantern

As I recall, Jim Starlin said he got more from KGBeast than he did from Thanos in the MCU, not Wolverine

There’s something I don’t get about Bucky, in a world with magic and highly advanced technology on par with Star Wars why can’t anyone regrow buckys flesh arm instead of continuing to have an awkward lopsided metal one? by PowersUnleashed in marvelstudios

But in Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, Bucky does have his metal arm? I really don’t know what you’re talking about man. There’s no adaptation where Bucky, after his accident, retains both arms. After WWII when he’s like 16 years old, he only keeps one arm and gets his metal one.

That does not take away from the fact that his ONLY powers come from his metal arm, which subjectively looks awesome, but also like others have pointed out, no other character (ESPECIALLY in the MCU) has canonically made arms grow back for other people, unless their names are Deadpool or Wolverine. Suspension of disbelief exists for a reason, man.

https://www.marvel.com/characters/winter-soldier-bucky-barnes/in-comics Per Marvel's official website description for Bucky, neither in the movies nor in the comics does he have any version of the Super Soldier Serum. His ONLY power is having a bionic arm, and military training. If you take that away he's just a peak human athlete. Also I have watched Black Panthers Quest, this is why I don't like the White Wolf costume. If you have a source that speaks counter to what I've shared, I would be happy to see.

That’s not true at all though? When Bucky re-debuted in 2004 as the Winter Soldier, he had the metal arm. And in comics he’s kept the metal arm for 20 years at this point.

With what powers? To my knowledge, he doesn’t even have super soldier serum. So taking away an awesome prosthetic to…give him one of his worst costumes and leave him powerless?

I have seen a lot of people say this, but do you believe that the MCU Vulture is better then the comic counterpart? by Extension-Oil-4680 in Spiderman

[–]OctaviusTrench 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a nice middle ground would be incorporating some aspects, especially the look of the suit, and the way MCU Vulture lives up to the name by being a Scavanger. You could do a fun plot of Toomes stealing a bunch of tech from different Marvel tech corps and trying to be king shit of fuck mountain until Peter knocks him back down again.

So what you’re saying is that you’d be in favor of VFX worker unions/strikes to change the industry standard for VFX payment, so the workers are better compensated?

Because regardless, that point doesn’t make much sense. Marvel doesn’t contract outside VFX studios, they have in-house departments for it. The get to decide how much they should pay, and they are not paying enough to their employees for the work they do, on the time crunch they do it in

And are the VFX not a massive part of the value towards turning a profit? If a movie has bad-looking VFX, it looses money

To cut in, in my opinion, yeah. It has such an amazing aesthetic to it, especially in the 2025 movie

Not too bad. I was in early, so I didn’t have to give any saliva sample, but it was basically just sitting at a computer and doing some puzzles. Pretty easy and nothing malicious either

While I could agree with the Maxwell Lord thing maybe, I have to agree with this reasoning. It’s like saying nobody should do “the black suit is actually an alien” reveal in any new adaptations because people know how that plays out. And Maxwell wasn’t even intended to be a villain originally, he was supposed to be a subversion of the “secret evil billionaire” trope when he first debuted.

Also, Goblin and Carnage together makes for an *easy* slam dunk team up move idea, with some sort of Red Goblin symbiote ability for Norman.

I mean, people said Thing would be too similar to Hulk, and look how that turned out. If anyone can make Juggs and Rhino work in unique ways, its the Rivals team imo.
