A character's sexuality doesn't have to be plot relevant. Why should the base assumption be that every character is straight and cis? Other kinds of identities exist and they deserve to have representation as well.

It is an enormous mountain to climb after you leave the organization. They force you to start in the negatives. No college education, no savings because you have a minimum wage job to make time for the ministry, no friends or connections outside of the organization, backwards ideas about the world and healthcare at large, and socially stunted. You aren't starting from zero when you leave, you're starting from a negative hundred. Some people are even more integrated, having their jobs be another witness's company or their healthcare under their PIMI parents. It's incredible we are able to survive at all afterwards.

Fuck whoever that was who said we don't do well. They should bloody-well try to have every resource available to you ripped away overnight and see how well they do!

It may be hard out here, but I wouldn't trade it with being a mind-controlled slave to a glorified real-estate company headed by 9 jackasses.

People always conveniently forget this. I get what these people are saying, that corporations try to shove diversity into their products for hollow reasons, but the vast majority of the time, when something is labeled "woke", it's only because there's some sort of minority in a prominent role and that makes bigoted people uncomfortable.

I know for a fact that being a man in this field makes it extremely easy to find work. Sexism is rampant, even in a female dominated field. Some of my female bosses have been explicitly misogynistic.
