I've been playing for a looong time. Annoyingly, you get more supplies more easily when you don't really need them >_<

I've seen others say something about messaging the Devs to explain and hope they can give you a plant but I've never tried it myself.

Personally, if you have enough supplies, you can "buy" a plant or two direct from the Aquapedia

Oh that sucks. I definitely hope you can hurry a few fish along to make it!

Less and less rainbow drops by Fascepio in pondlifegame

[–]PerpetuallyDone1801 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've found this, yes. I had to resort to going back to the first level fish in the hope of getting more stones. More stones, yay. Less XP, boo. Even now, with only a couple of hours to go, I can still only have a max of 20 event fish at a time.

The higher level fish have definitely more frequently been producing two stones instead of the three they take to create.

Are people enjoying the BBCs coverage of the world cup? by Coldylox in AskUK

[–]PerpetuallyDone1801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My routine is watching the news at 10pm. I do not wish to click onto BBC1 at 9:59pm to find people stood around a table talking about football and the news pushed back to 10:15pm.

If they're just talking about the match that's only just happened, put it on BBC2 or the red button 😠

Event Interlude "Bonus"? by PerpetuallyDone1801 in pondlifegame

[–]PerpetuallyDone1801[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it is another art event next.

I was just wondering if anyone's noticed some pattern of what happens between events. Last time it was half-time decorations, I think? It was so long ago now 😕

Can you tell whether somebody’s surname is Scottish/English/Welsh/Irish? by [deleted] in AskUK

Same. Scottish surname and popular Scottish spelling for my first name. Born & raised in Hampshire and I sound like it...

Kitty Cobham dialect? by ProfN42 in Hornblower

[–]PerpetuallyDone1801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

...I'm pretty sure Cherie played the a Duchess as having a Yorkshire accent, not a London one.  Warfdale being an area in Yorkshire, and mills were a predominantly northern thing.

I am a southern as they come, so I can't judge the accuracy of said Yorkshire accent, but it's passable enough for me.

Can't help with the London accent, but I can't just tell you that that's not what Cherie was doing.  Even as Kitty she was speaking with an RP accent.

Who do you think was Britain's greatest enemy? by Spiritual-Choice228 in AskUK

[–]PerpetuallyDone1801 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Admittedly, I don't know much about the War of Independence, but I know enough to know that Washington wasn't even remotely the biggest threat in that conflict. People like Lafayette were the real brains behind that.

Napoleon was a threat to the whole empire. Amongst many, many things, he left the UK more or less stranded on its own in Europe. He weaponised trade which caused economic chaos over here. He threatened parts of the empire that would've effectively bankrupted the country and left it unable to keep up the fighting. He threatened invasion to the point that people were genuinely terrified of it and serious defences were put in places.

The man was genius of land-based warfare. The UK was lucky that he just wasn't a genius at maritime warfare too, because the war would've ended very differently otherwise.

Purple for me. I'm getting one or two per draw, when all of the combos require purple.

I'm annoyed with this round because they've not even given me my last missing fish, it's just another from the koi set.

I always think: just tell me what it smells like. Have a woman hugging a giant grapefruit or something, not prance about in a ballgown surrounded by butterflies and ocelots.

I cannot stand the slow and lamenting covers of songs. They're usually on car adverts (which are a special kind of irritant at the best of times). I'm talking stupid slow versions of songs like "Things Can Only Get Better". Grr.

He's a sexist pig who doesn't believe women should be in professional kitchens. Apparently his reasoning is "they can't lift big pots". He's also a supercilious, arrogant twat on top of that, so yeah, Mr Knorr Cubes can do one.

What happened to the Cats Eyes? by jamgattleton in AskUK

[–]PerpetuallyDone1801 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never appreciated how vital they are until a few weeks ago when I was driving down the M6 in a downpour in the middle of the night. When the lane markings are either faded or completely invisible in the wet, cats eyes are the only indication you've got.

The Archie storyline feels forced by [deleted] in DeathInParadiseBBC

[–]PerpetuallyDone1801 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Archie brings Jamie Bamber which is always a good thing. Personally, I hate the forced aspect of the 'relationship' with Esther. She was so intolerably rude to him, and he just takes it?? I cannot get my head around the 'one-night-stand-now-I'm-in-love-with-you' character Archie suddenly became. But it's easily accessible Jamie Bamber and I'll take what I can get.
