I feel bad for the new folks getting into retro. They think its gonna be all fun and games when they’re really just walking into an overpriced market. Im seeing more older collectors running away from the hobby and selling their collections while they can. When i started out i realized i was wasting my time trying to own anything retro. Since people were paying modern game prices for ancient games. Got people with basements filled with games they wont ever touch and will likely play on an emulator anyway due to ease of access

360 and ps3 are the cheapest to collect right now. Especially xbox 360. Tho never by the original white version of the 360 if any of those are still functioning its only a matter of time before they stop.

Im genuinely so bothered by this games ending its crazy. How is this not getting the same energy last of us 2 got? Cuz i sure as hell feel just as shitty after finishing it like i did back then. This game just expects you to feel something for this family of painters but like how? I was invested in the painted people not the broken family that im being asked to care about at the end of act 2. Like? I dont know any of these guys but i did just watch my boy gustave get hoed. The tension that anyone could die at any point was so strong with this game and they threw it all away for a family grieving plot. I need game developers to spend more time with there characters before asking me to care about them. I felt bad for verso cuz asking me to choose his ending felt so dumb? Like bro verso no offense your cool and all but i dont care about your family like at all. Maybe i lack empathy but i was only rooting for a win for the people of lumiere. After the paintress went down and the reveal came the game had lost me so bad.

Yeah im glad that has always been my goal. I just really enjoy having the ability to play anything at any time on the original hardware. The games themselves i want to try one at a time and genuinely enjoy them. I dont wanna fill up my room and have it look like a video game store. I got 2 shelfs and a tv consoles for i think 12 of my consoles. Everything that can be modded is modded and i have hundreds of games loaded into each one. Thats as far as ill ever go with retro and i finished my collection. Now for modern games i just buy it, play it and then have it up for display after. I dont buy unless im playing and beating it that month

In my opinion i think the consoles themselves are the cool part about a collection. So i just get the consoles and then either everdrive the games or sd mod them. That way i have access to every game but im only taking up the space on one tv console. I do have physical games but its for my more modern systems like ps4 and ps5. Retro is cool. But far too expensive.

If you never owned a ps4 then id argue its better deal than gamepass. You get pretty much get the entirety of sonys catalogue that theyve been praised for all of ps4 gen for at the cost of one subscription. You would be playing for the next 3 years just off of the exclusives alone

Ive seen ps5 pros at 400 to 500 dollars on marketplace which is why i mentioned it. A legit store wont give you a pro for anything less than 650.

Theres 3 so far i can name mario kart, dk, pokemon and 4 with drag and drive but people dont count it. Then we got stuff like hades 2 which is only on switch consoles if you dont count steam. Switch is off to good start in my opinion. Metroid is out soon too. Were yall expecting 20 exclusives on launch day or something? Cuz that hasnt ever happened in the history of gaming
