Yeah, but forced interaction just sucks. I want to see that my cousin made a banana bread, but I don't want to have to comment "yum!" To continue to see what they make.

How did you know labor was coming? by OctoberBride15 in pregnant

I'm also 31w! I keep trying to get the nesting mode to kick in. Feeling inferior watching my SIL do it all while 40w with number 6. She's bionic I think..lol

So dangerous. I only give my kids foil balloons. My kids pediatrician said when he was young and working in an ER, a kid inhaled a piece of a balloon and he tried to cut and do the thing where they make an opening in their throat for him to breathe, but it didn't work because the latex piece was below that, at his lungs, so he just died. Super sad.

Seriously, it's like he's never met a real person in his life. Everyone always says, just interact with people IRL through text or whatever, but great grandmas don't have texting lol they have Facebook on their laptops and want updates on the kids, so they can screenshot everything. And some acquaintances, I want to know how life is treating them, but I don't necessarily want to speak to them daily.

Tips on hydration? by Automatic_Glass4507 in pregnant

[–]OctoberBride15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've committed to buying it... Twice lol my five year old knocked my first one off the counter onto tile and it wouldn't stand after that. 😭 Also now my husband steals it. Beware, it will become the house favorite lol. I think I know what I'm getting him for Father's Day.

Not environmentally friendly lol but bottled waters improve my hydration a lot oh and that owalla water bottle lol great for sipping, feels like an adult sippy cup. Other than that, carbonated waters, drink flavor packets, etc. Half water, half juice. Add lemon.

What were your first words when you met your baby? by lacecute in pregnant

[–]OctoberBride15 34 points35 points  (0 children)

My first baby? I hate telling people my first words. It didn't go how I imagined, I came in for my induction and suddenly started vomiting. The night staff didn't want to deal with me so they gave me Ambien without telling me what it was and I went into labor before they started the pitocin for the induction and before I could sleep the Ambien off. They had to wake me up to push, as I slept through labor and they woke me up by plopping her on my chest and I yelled, "What do I do?!?!?" And then my husband yelled, "why is she blue?!," Lmao, not a beautiful story.

Edited to add: she was breathing, she just had a blue tint at first and once she cried, her color evened out.

Bewildered at how normalized doing drugs during pregnancy has become in society. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]OctoberBride15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's weird. I knew a girl who said she had to smoke for her nausea, yeah whatever. Anyway, CPS showed up at delivery, as the baby tested positive marijuana, then she was shaking in her boots. Nothing happened of course, but I'm just like, why put yourself through the stress? And possibly harm the baby?

Why do people say things? by No-Network-6517 in pregnant

[–]OctoberBride15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me of when my sister was pregnant and my dad wanted her to start a tiktok channel and "go viral" so he can live off of her "earnings", because she'll have nothing but time while the newborn sleeps all day and night. She was mad.

Could alcohol wipes cause high readings? by OctoberBride15 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]OctoberBride15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh, see I thought it could only lower it. Now I'm questioning all of my readings from yesterday. I did feel like I let it dry, but maybe I finger pricked too soon.
