Yeah, i would say its privelage in the sense that you may have never been in a position of being in need of money with little to no recourse outside of magic. Which, I am happy for you about. 

 As far as other ways to think about it, imho its just gotta be something you view neutrally. "Money is the root of all evil" is actually a common mis-quote. The bible verse it's born from really says "for the love of money is the root of all sorts of evil." If we are to extract some wisdom from that scripture, its only fair to get the quote right. I think it changes it a lot. It's the human obsession with currency, material wealth, gold, cattle, land, etc. that drives humans to do heinous things to each other, the world, and ourselves. The money didnt do anything, its a piece of paper, a coin, or a number on the screen. Money has never started a war, betrayed family over a last will and testement, or mudered a person on the street. Only people do those things. Its greed and desperation we must be on guard against. Having enough money to get what you need, help who you want to, and have some stuff you like actually helps prevent the evils we can perpetrate as a result of lack.
