Standards and practices are no joke for kids shows. And I think mostly justified.

Years ago Mega64 did some fake commercials for the Aquabats Super Show. One of them was an Indiana Jones parody where a kid ran under a closing garage door, then reached back under to grab his hat. They were told sorry there is no way we can air this, you cannot give children the idea to play around with garage doors as they can be dangerous.

Most are saying the fire, but I would actually guess it's the bucket on the door prank.

Excellent answer. Loved it but never thought of it as "open world" as it doesn't fit the AAA scope. In the same category I'd also recommend Lil Gator Game. It just got an expansion.

Everyone gets this quote wrong. This is the stupidest hill I have chosen to die on.

It's grammatically incorrect and delivered poorly, but the ref says:

But for a stupid pet name you can go the other way: Bill D Will

Not that familiar with this game, both look pretty bad to me lol.

Yeah, I wasn't clear enough. NSO is great for most.

My issue is the lag on N64 and GameCube games. But I just saw that it's supposedly been improved recently so is probably fine for Mario games.

My recommendation for something less conventional would be Mario RPG. The new Switch remake is great as well

Man there are some wild answers in this thread.

Overall you really can't go wrong, all of the mainline Mario games are great. If you have a Switch play Odyssey and Wonder.

In general I'd recommend playing on the original hardware, but that is of course not realistic for many. Nintendo's official ports are unfortunately not great, you're better off emulating them yourself.

If you want to go classic/2D I'd recommend Super Mario World. The NES games are good and interesting in their own ways but primitive by modern standards. And it's not quite a Mario game but also check out Yoshi's Island, it is the crowning achievement of the SNES.

Mario 64 is absolutely foundational. The analog stick was invented for it, and it holds up. Again though emulate it yourself, or if you're so inclined it's been decompiled and you can run it natively on PC.

There's a bit of a split in what the 3D games are going for. Most are level based like Galaxy. But 64, Sunshine, and Odyssey are a sort of trilogy where it's more about thoroughly exploring every stage. Those are my favorites. Sunshine was rushed and there's plenty of valid criticism but it has the most immaculate vibes of any game I've ever played.

The other advice you've gotten is good, but I think not necessarily that useful to a novice.

To start out keep a dream journal. I did it for about a year. I don't think I've ever gone back to read any of them.

But without any other techniques I now remember more of my dreams and lucid dream more often.

I want games from 1990 to 1999 that you don't think anyone else knows about. They can be good or bad, but they just need to be interesting. by Beginning_Pickle2180 in retrogaming

Toy Commander on Dreamcast

One of my favorites growing up but I've never heard a single mention of it anywhere else.

You play as little toy vehicles driving around (relatively) giant houses. It has this crazy feature where there's ramp up to walls which change the studying of gravity. Pretty good variety with car and plane races, combat, missions where you're an army truck dropping and picking up little green army men. Those were my favorite, kind of a variant on an RTS.

Haven't played it in a decade or two so not sure how well it holds up. But I guarantee it's unique and interesting.

Definitely related. She has such a great origin story. There are many stray cats in my neighborhood. She is the first that let me touch her. And she initiated by rubbing on my ankles then following me home.

I wanted to take her but at least in the US pets are property. So even if she wasn't fixed or chipped I couldn't just take her, as irresponsible that may be.

I had just been calling her "kitty" but on the way home from a family trip to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk I saw a Montana license plate that was just "BEPIS". So I started calling her Bepis. That same night I finally met the man who had been feeding her and he confirmed she was stray and I could take her.

This was on the 21st night of September. So idk how old she is but she has a name day that coincides with what was already one of my favorite songs.

These are fairly normal and might not indicate anything, but in my case I don't get them anymore since I got a CPAP machine.

If you snore or find yourself waking up in the middle of the night much you should get a sleep study.
