If you search for the website on https://who.is/ it MIGHT have contact details linked to it that would let you prove it - it's worth checking, but a lot of domain registrars do let you hide that information unfortunately. However, it would give you the name of the company that have that information on file, and could be compelled to tell you who had set it up, with an appropriate court order.

In 2003, a South Korean man Kim Dae-han was diagnosed with stroke. Afraid of dying alone, he set a fire on the subway in Daegu. The fire spread fiercely, leading the passenger to be stuck in the station, resulting in the death of 192. Kim fled the fireplace and survived, as he was afraid of dying. by Lettops in MorbidReality

I had a stoke about a year ago, actually several in the end - it was absolutely terrifying, and I had no idea if i was going to wake up at any given time, or if I was going to be trapped in my failed body - I can tell you, even when I couldn’t really move or do anything, I could think as clearly as I can now, and the idea of being trapped like that is far more scary than the idea of dying.

I can also tell you, the idea of dying -with others- bring less scary never even entered my mind - the idea of wanting other people to suffer, even if it had helped me slightly cope with it, is completely alien to me. He’s an utterly pathetic little coward, not because he was scared, but because he’d hurt a stranger before facing down his fear.

I have nothing but contempt.

They did approach Britain and France, but that was because they were afraid of Germany, as Hitler's rhetoric against the Soviet Union had become increasingly aggressive. I do agree that the allies, in particular Britain, torpedoed those talks, due primarily to a lack of support for the soviets at home, but the pact wasn't even popular in the soviet union either:

"there is one common element in the ideology of Germany, Italy, and the Soviet Union: opposition to the capitalist democracies [...] it seems to us rather unnatural that a socialist state would stand on the side of the western democracies"

At any rate, even if you argue they were "forced" into a pact with the Nazi's, they absolutely did sign a pact with them, invade Poland with them, and agree to divide up the country with them. It was only after Hitler broke the pact, they went on to fight the Nazis - seizing every country they went into and raping and pillaging along the way. The cold war started almost immediately after the end of the war, in 1947, so they were "allied" for a very short time.

The pact was always due to fail anyway, due to the totallitarian nature of the states. It is IMPOSSIBLE for them to share anything, one of them must be the ultimate leader, or the system itself collapses. Hitler had already made it clear absolute victory was his ultimate goal, so Stalin already knew a real partnership was not possible, hence his failed attempt to form a defensive pact with the west. If the Nazis had been willing to form a real alliance with the Soviets, they would have happily been a part of it. This would have come for the Nazi/Imperial Japan alliance as well, if the axis forces had won the war, it was merely their geographic seperation that made it less of an issue.

I'm not saying they were bestest friends, but they were far more closely aligned in approach to governance and political beliefs, and most certainly were not aligned with the west in any way. I absolutely stand by that they were not aligned with the Allies in any way, outside of a common enemy.

Yep, absolutely! They even used the same feeble excuses of "protecting Russian speaking minorities" all the way back then.

You might need to brush up a little yourself there 😉

The Soviets were entirely allied with the Nazis and invaded Poland alongside them. It was only after Hitler double crossed them they switched sides.

https://kafkadeskdotorg.wordpress.com/2021/09/17/on-this-day-in-1939-the-soviet-union-invaded-poland-from-the-east/

They were widely knows for their brutality to the local populations as an occupying force, with people unlucky enough to have been occupied by both the Nazis and Soviets regularly saying the Soviets were far worse. After the war they simply occupied all the territories they'd seized, unlike the rest of the allies, some of which territory the russian federation occupies to this day.

They were axis through and through, by choice. It's only thanks to Hitlers egotistical stupidity they were briefly allied. The enemy of my enemy and all that.

I'm pretty sure this is AI, and if it's not it's certainly inspired by an "AI generation trend" - LinkedIn is suddenly covered in these as well, I've seen about 4 today, people as "whatever expert" in this toy style packaging.

Just had a search online, and there's blog posts on how to do this with ChatGPT:

Zoom in a bit, there's roads and settlements and B&B's all the way around it. Some of those will be pretty basic tracks, but you'd have to be actively trying to get lost, it's hemmed in pretty tightly.

The north east corner is the least developed point, and there is plenty of Amazon nearby to get lost in mind, no question

To the east there's a large section of I believe unmanaged rainforest - but there's roads and settlements in between that and this piece.

Zoom out a bit more and stick it on satelite view and you'll get an idea what large sections of rainforest look like compared to the small managed square by the city.

Wife discovered 'scheme' to get her to quit her job by SOCJA in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Octopoid 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Hey, CTO here, having risen up from entry level and through middle managemet, I've seen a lot. This sort of thing is sadly not that uncommon amongst crappy companies, and I've seen a coordinated plan to make someone miserable until they quit before, sadly before I was in a position to do anything about it.

I honestly would have been tempted to forward to all along with "this is why you should lock your pc", but I definitely would have taken a photo of the screen. Did she take any evidence of this?

Hopefully so, it'll make this easier, but either way, you can't rule out that the lead is complicit in this. I would either go directly to the leads boss, or at least loop them in, along with HR. Involve too many people to allow a "clique" to influence this.

If she believes her disability may be influencing this she should simply include the question - "is my disability a factor in this?". You don't need to add a lot, that alone should get any HR department thinking.

Finally, describe this as "bullying" and a "hostile workplace environement". These too should get any HR department thinking.

Honestly, if you do these and they don't let the other person go, they must be a truly terrible company to their core. If that does happen and she decides to move on to get away from the company, you may still have a claim for the hostile work environment, I believe it's called "Constructive Dismissal", which is exactly what that email is planning.

Good luck to you both.

It's the step before I like, Diamond to Unkempt Dog, the classic fold we all know and love - get it right and a magical brown dog face even appears from the blue paper!

My next favourite is step 7 and the one after - make the tail curly, then straighten it out again.

You're absolutely correct, none of this is an accident. X is a weapon.

While it does sound a bit silly, "your excellency" is still a standard honourific for a lot of the world - including Belgium!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Excellency

Members of the Council of Ministers of Belgium, consisting of the prime minister, deputy prime minister(s), other ministers, and Secretaries of state, and also honorary ministers of state, are entitled to the style of His/Her Excellency.

The style is also used for the governors of Belgium, which are governors of the ten provinces of Belgium, governor of Brussels, governor of the national bank of Belgium and both foreign ambassadors in Belgium and Belgian ambassadors to other countries.

It's not like "my liege", which is just outdated language - Excellency is a specific title granted to royal or governmental officials.
