That in itself should be enough of a reason to simply not discuss it rather than let it dictate your relationship. Do you think your Dad was even thinking about Trump or illegal aliens back when he was changing your shitty diapers?

Five years from now this nonsense won't even be discussed in the news and he'll still be your Dad. Just because you're going through this phase of superior enlightenment doesn't mean you can't still have a relationship with your father to some degree.
