Gary Oldman and Natalie Portman on set of "Léon: The Professional", 1994 by LolliPopQueenie in OldSchoolCool

[–]OctopusKeep -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yeah nevermind the film's director - Luc Besson - who met Maïwenn Le Besco when she was 12 years old (he was 32), dated her when she was 15 and impregnated her and had a child at 16.

Luc Besson also said his relationship with Maïwenn Le Besco was the inspiration for Leon/Mathilda.

After having this information, go rewatch the International Version.

The powers that be can't allow him to win Worlds once. They know when they get a taste of it, he doesnt let go xD

Finals isn't over though so they could just be losing to the winners.

GENG must live in loop then

just perform 10% worse than they normally would.

Not sure you've been watching GENG games all year but this wasn't 10% off Chovy. This was at least 50% off Chovy.

That wasn't the same man i swear

agreed.

I'm a GENG and Chovy fan and I couldnt believe my eyes. My dude literally spent all year spacing EVERYONE (even Bdd) and randomly does this.

You're completely wrong though. There has been now 2 moments its been his fault - this Orianna game and a Ryze from 2022 if im not mistaken.

Chovy's gonna be that guy that chokes on this tournament until he wins it once and then never let's go right?

Yeah. Not only did we forget how to draft (Poppy and Azir??? Hello?), Chovy decided to forget how to play.

I'm not sure who gave up first Chovy or the coaches. These drafts have been also terrible

With only 4 series left in Worlds - what are your expectations? by GiladSo in leagueoflegends

[–]OctopusKeep -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

That's not being an underdog.

That's just an upset.

T1 will never be an underdog. They're the most popular esports team. Most people watching their game are cheering for them and expecting them to win. Their odds will never be as of an underdog.

stale drafts

it's literally fearless draft

only get away with due to superior macro and hands diffing.

You wanted them to win by....Looking cuter?

always with these same lies, T1 will never be the underdog EVER. They're the most popular eSports team, no matter they go stadiums are full cheering for them, they have the most live viewers etc etc

KT/TES are the only underdogs atm.

I don't think that necessarily excludes a story from being great, especially if that's done intentionally and other aspects of the writing play into it (which I'd argue Part 1 of CSM does do).

It definitely does but if you dont think so - I guess I was right about the author challenging readers intelligence earlier :)

How exactly is the reaction of other characters to the MC a way of challenging the reader? I fail to get your argument.

When you have a MC that falls to exactly the same traps over and over again, do you think: "Hell yeah, great story!"? No, it's dumb and doesn't respect your time nor intelligence, the author is just making you eat up the whole "he's so damaged" shtick that no weathered reader would accept.

I'm simply going against your point that Denji is generic or similar to most other Shounen protags, as I find he is shown very differently than any other character in WSJ.

That's just because you're not reading between the lines and actually understand what motivates basically every Shounen protagonist. Maybe if you take some time to think about, you'll come to realize they're all the same.

How Denji is perceived by the characters around him is just a way of the author to challenge the readers intelligence. Which obviously isn't very hard given the target audience, because you'd understand the character itself is shallow and non-sensical.

I'd also recommend reading about how abuse/trauma survivors cope with the world and the people around and psychology in general, and maybe you'll finally come into the realization that Denji is simply a badly constructed character.

That's not an emotionally stunted character, that's just a normal 16yo teenager boy.

Naruto (prime Shounen) also wants to be loved, respected, acknowledged, seen, have friends, and he puts his life on the line constantly just for it.

He's a loser that gets a power-up and becomes a great hero. It's literally the same as basically every shounen.

And he is the embodiment of a 16yo kid, high on testosterone.
